i cant remember where i read this, but somewhere in this forum, I remember I read something about how the uk/euro hi power version of the rx8 will have less hp and torque compared with the us spec version, even tho the US has even more stringent emissions laws?

But apparently ours weighs less :D as our regulations for crash test etc are not as severe as the US.

(Even though they are hoping for a 5* NCAP rating).

 

Do you know how much less or is this just a rumor?

 

Have you downloaded the press pack from the (Multimedia Photo Gallery) forum?

Looking at the specs there the weights for all three major sectors are the same.

 

I assume it would be a simple job to regain the extra 10bhp, via changing the exhaust system? Or is this done electronically? Probably a really bad time to ask, considering no-one has an rx-8 to speak of, but still would like to hear peoples opinions.
