Test Drive Next Week

Got a phone call from local dealer (Newbury Mazda), I get a test
drive next week!!!!!!! (can't wait). Is there anything you fellow
members what me to check out on the car whilst I am driving it?
Also, I spoke to Mazda on Tuesday - the first boat left on Tuesday
for the UK. Boats will leave now every 2 weeks with cars for the
UK.

What day/time ?

I spoke to Andy at Newbury yesterday and he said pop in anytime from Thursday morning but he wasn't sure if they'll be allowing test drives.

Mike,

Peter called me on Wedneday. They should have a car in this
coming Wednesday, he told me to call before I popped down, but
did say I can have a drive as I have had a order on since Jan
this year. I noticed you are from Reading aswell!!!!. When did
you pre-order?

March pre-order via the web.

I don't think my contact ( Andy ) has phoned me once, but he is an expert at the "I've been trying to reach you" whenever I call him

I was planning to pop down first thing Thurs after the school run to try and see if I can fit me/golf clubs/child seat in one.

I think I was pre-order number 11 for them, so there will probably be a PDI backlog when the cars start to arrive...

You must have been one of their first pre-orders.

Mike,

I was the first one to order from them!!!!!. Well thats what they
told me at the time. I have seen one in the flesh, you won't have
any problems getting the golfing gear in the back. What is the
month of delivery they have given you?, mine is November hopefully.

Yes, my letter said November too. ( Black hi power with leather and sun roof. )

I saw the car at Motor Expo in Canary Wharf and again at Goodwood - looked nice in blue. Got a quick sit inside as well, but am now getting desperate for a drive, especially with all these UK test drive reviews that are popping up...

I've seen other write-ups suggesting two bags of golf clubs fit, so I'm pretty relaxed about that ( wierd shaped trolley, notwithstanding ) but the child seats for 5 year old and 2 year old might test the accessibility of rear seat belts.

What colour/spec are you getting ?

I was about 4th to order from there and have been giving Peter and Ian the most hassle.

I am going down for a test drive tomorrow at Newbury as they have a Velocity red Hi-power in for the Newbury Trade show.

I did start a thread about it a while back but no one responded. Maybe you weren't registered back then. I'll bump it up for you all to see.

I did see your original post and immediately phoned Andy at Newbury Mazda

I've spoken to Andy a few times ( always initiated by me, of course - no call about book, picture, trip to Bristol ...)

He told me the car will be there some time tomorrow ( Weds ) but better to wait till Thursday in case it's not there till 5pm. He wasn't sure if poeple would get to have a drive/ride but we can have a good look.

If some people get to drive it and I don't then I won't be very happy, but ( to confirm I'm not yet delusional ) I fully realize that neither Mazda UK nor the dealer give a monkeys whether I'm happy or not !

Well Ian will have the wrath of me if It isn't there today. I have held off mjeetings for Tuesday and Today and I will be down there at 5pm to demand to know why. Newbury Mazda are keeping us out of the loop here. They have now got over 30 orders for the cars and not had a test vehicle or deomnstrator.

I will let you know how it all goes mate.

cheers

Phil

woo hoo - test drive booked

Just spoke to Andy at Newbury Mazda again and I'm in the diary for 11 tomorrow !

That's even made up for the fact that the postmen are probably going on strike thus delaying the arrival of our delivery date letters till after the cars get here !

Arnold Clarks on Kerse Rd, speak to Craig Johnston

they did say only pre-orders were getting a shot? but can't hurt to give them a try (as long as you don't try and take my slot on monday!!)

Smile

Cheers KEF.

I remembered you mentioning them before so I gave them a call this afternoon. I can go and look but not touch! All test drives have been allocated to pre-order customers, which is fair enough.

Queensborough also have an RX8 over the weekend. Test drives have not been booked as they are not sure yet if Mazda UK is going to allow them to drive the car!
Advice from the salesman (who was informative and helpful) was to take my license along with me, just in case - so you never know!
