Starter Button

When I first saw the interior I just loved the starter button concept, stupit maybe, but unusual.

Anybody know if this is still on the car and if we in the Uk will get it?

This won't be on the first batch of cars, although looking at the Japanese factory options brochure it is now something that can be specified over there.

Perhaps something that could be fitted later.

With regards to the other factory options, the metallic petrol cap looks good as do the chrome rotor details for the front spoiler and rear diffuser, and the chrome braces for the venting at the rear of the front wheel arches.

A space saver spare wheel is also available that mounts onto a bracket in the boot.

Hope some of these make it over here.

Presumably when we eventually receive the brochure we will have some option choice or will it be too late for us to add these (I suppose it will depend if thses are added by the dealer or manufacturer).

It's a bit gimmicky, but I fancy the idea of the starter button too.

The starter button would have more effect if the engine sounded great at startup and idle, but by all accounts it is very quiet.

The email from Mazda said the accessory details would not be available until July, so I guess we will have to wait until then.

On chatting to my dealer it pans out that there are two types of extras:

Options . Leather, paint, sunroof, sat nav. Fitted at manufacture.

Accessories. Everything else. eg. trim, starter button etc. Fitted at dealership.

And he expects to have the accessories list well before the cars arrive. However he says they will get the paint swatches when they get their demonstrators (which will be same time we get our cars). Very handy.

They are all off to the Mazda 2 dealers launch in a week or so and he will be quizzing them for more 8 info.

Gotta say I am going to go for the starter button.
I just love it !

I have a Marlin kit-car (had it for years) and when we built the interior for that I had a starter button. It's way cool - you should all go for this option !
