RX-Late's map shows the ship is in port... anyone know what happens from here?

Hopefully the cars should be at the dock now being unloaded. They must be in the 27th of the Month is being mentioned as when dealers are getting their first batch through.

A work colleague told me yesterday he had seen a transporter of 8's traveling up the A34 from Southhampton. The were unregistered with the usual transport protection on. Not sure which port they are arriving into but Southampton does handle a lot of freight so the goegraphy makes sense.

The 27'th is the day that the dealers get their training at Silverstone, and they will be driving the cars back themselves on that day... so expect them to have demonstrators by the 28th...

My dealer says they have a waitinglist of 250 people for test drives.

My journey takes me around that area. Sadly did not see any. I thought someone said Mazda cars arrived in Kent?

Yeah Mazda is the isle of sheppy is it not. But the heard somewhere else that they havent sent the cars all in the same boat cause they dont want the potential of the BMW/Volvo recent disaster. So with that in mind they could be docking pretty much anywhere in the country. Probably in the south but there is no reason why Hull, Liverpool or even Glasgow might not be a port of call as these are ships full of many vendors.

Incidently my dealer has told me they have 8 cars assigned to them from the "first" batch but as yet they cannot marry up who is what and so forth. Monday will be a time for joy for a lot of us or sorrow for others.

All, I have been informed that the ship docks on Sunday night or Monday morning. They are offloaded into Kents and then transported to the dealers for the PDI, which I'm told takes 4 days to sort (Valet, checks, registration .....).

Anils,

Where did you get this info? Seems a tad early even for the dealer cars.

Apparently the ship is already in port, but you have to concider the customs inspection, AND the fact that the dealers are not allowed to have their cars until they have done their training on the 27th... so none of our cars will be available until after then.... They will drive their own demonstrators back from Silverstone (Where the training happens)... and the customer cars will start arriving on transporters after that...

They will be wanting to shift them as soon as they can, so I expect you'll have them early November.... sorry... it's another 3 week wait!

and lets hope for all of your sakes that MazdaUK learned from the transporter problems encountered in the US. they had problems at first moving the cars with appearance packages because of insufficient clearences on the transporters. it delayed some cars by a week or two.
