Question RX-8 in Belgium ?

Hi All,

I am very happy to have found this very good forum.
Thanks to all of you for all the information about the RX-8 you post on it.

In belgium there is still no indication of release date of the car on the market or even an indication of a possible launch event.
If anybody has more information about it. It would be great to tell me.

Thanks

Thank for the information.

So you already know the price of the car and different options cost ? Which model did you order ? With 231 CV or 192 CV ?

Did you have the chance to test drive it ?

Cheers

Well, I'm currently living in Belgium (but I'm Greek), and I have to say I havent seen a single advertisement or press release or anything about the RX8......
Which is not so in Greece. There are some advertisements over there, but release/delivery dates are still somewhat "murky".....

Hello,

I ordered a red 231 CV (cost of assurance and "BIV"), Velocity red, red-black leather, GPS, ... price for me 34.000,00 EUR. You know, this version is realy complete. I had in janiuary no knowledge of options, but there will be a vast aftermarket release of options and tune-up articles. You can vind a lot on this forum.

I was promissed a test drive in Francorchamps, with the launch event, but I have no confirmation at this moment. I know in the UK and Germany there were test drives foor the perorderers but I think it is a bit early yet for Belgium. Perhaps somewhere in september. I'll let you know.

This is a real good price (I heard about 37.000 Eur for the 231 CV normally). Very good choice, I think I will also order this one in red too.

Did you buy it in Harelbeke ? Which Dealer ?
I am leaving not too far from there in Doornick, so it may be interresting.

thanks for the supplemetary information.

Well, the text is pretty much the usual Mazda material (so nothing new there), but the fact that you have already ordered at this price is quite something

I mean, the HIGH Power model in Greece is a flat 40K, so at 34K yours is a steal (or maybe all Greeks are robbed blind when going to buy a new car in Greece )

Hello again,

First of al I live in Harelbeke, so that is 30 min from Tournai; lets say 15 with a RX8 (unless police).

I bought it in Kuurne, next to Harelbeke and Courtrai, 20min from tournai. The SAAB-Mazda dealer there is Vandenborre, he is a bit of a regio chief and collegues of me had very good experiences there at the point of service. So I went up there, had very good talks and a warm welcome.

They have a site :

http://www.mazda-vandenborre.be
E-mail : admin@garage-vandenborre.be

As far as I know there is also someone from Avelgem that bougt there a RX8.

Thanks for the info.
It can be very usefull to get a good price like you.

In Tournai, the Mazda dealer is not really aware of the last informations about the RX-8, maybe because he has too many work. I only know that he ordered two demo RX-8 of 192 CV. But he was not able to tell me when they will arrive.

Yes Kuurne is very close and as you told probably even closer with a RX-8. I saw for the first time the car in Octobre 02 in Paris (Mondial de l'auto), and I was directly impressed with it.

Do you know if the TO (open dak - toit ouvrant) is in the High Power by default or is it an option ?

Hello,

In kuurne Vandeborre ordered 10 RX8's. I do not know how many Hi Power an/or Standard Power.
For as far as I know the TO is always an option. I do not know the price of it, because I ordered even without having seen the car and even before all tech specs were known. I just followd my feeling. Vandenborre told me, and he showed me the E-mail from the importer for Belgium, that they expect these cars somewhere in september, so I hope mine is included.

What made you so confident 8 months ago about the car ?
Did you already have a Rotary based car ?

Now I feel it is worth its value but begin of year informations about the car was very low.

You are a lucky man to get it so soon. My wife doesn't want us to pre-order. She definitly wants a Test drive before we go for one.
So we already went to test drive possible others cars like the BMW 325Ci&330Ci, Audi TT and the S2000. So I am waiting now impatiently to test the RX-8.

Hello,

I am not that young so ... when I was 18 (not that I feel old now !!!) I drove a NSU with a wankel and I still remeber me that car as agressive (you have to put it in those times) and reliable.
So you made a good guess about my feeling; it is based on other experiences.
