Question Remove Front plate holder for Switzerland

Hi,

I just got my RX-8 this week, and am very happy with it so far. However my car has the European plate holder on the front, and the dealer just put the Swiss plateholder on top of it, making it look very ugly.

Has anyone taken the European plate holder off and put a Swiss one on there? Is it easy to do?

I attached an image of how it looks now.

A few people have removed the holder all together in the UK.

3 screws I think, then it has 3 cips that are hard to get off, not sure of the details but requires reaching behind the front bumper etc.

I took this uglypiece pf plastic off too. I put a 'sticker' plate on the left side of the bumper, Alfa-like.

Thanks for the replies, I will have a look at how to attach the Swiss plate, perhaps using the 3 screw mechanism that is already there.

I have no problem with the small plate being there, however see no reason to keep the big ugly pile of plastic behind it.

Hey Phase2, what is this in your under bumper scoop area? We don't have that, and I've never seen this before? Is it an air restrictor?

Also, love your tiny-tiny plates! You can almost hide them somewhere low on the front.

I'm not too sure what you mean, is it the rotary accent or the whole part beneath the bumper?

I didn't change anything, I can take a high-res picture tomorrow to make it more clear.

The yellow outlined part. We have nothing there. Here is a pic of mine when I did the plastic under there to keep road stuff out of the radiator area.

I see now. Did not notice it was different before. The black one above seems to have it as well.

I will have a look at it tomorrow and take a better picture of it.
