Prodrive Track Day

Anyone heard anything from their dealers about how the free Prodrive track day is going to work, or even when it will be?!

A few details from the new Mazda 04 Mag, here's a summary of what they've said so far:

1) You can either go to Prodrive, or they will come to you. But obviously just 'Roadcraft' if they come to you

2) Half day on 'Roadcraft', half day on the track, which includes a session in the skidpan

3) ...er run out of facts already.

Questions

1) Prodrive car or our cars?

2) One or two people?

3) When will they start?

4) Midweek or weekend dates?

Anyone able to answer any of these?

Pro-drive day was stated as for two people (i.e. Husband and wife). Said something along the lines of 'bring a friend also'

Does the training day come standard with the car?
Or is it a reward for pre-orderers?

The way mazda promoted it it was for all RX-8 purchases. Nothing about pre-orders was mentioned, nor was any limit on age, numbers or date mentioned.

Thats not what it says in the Mazda04 magazine - quite clearly states "for all owners"

...its for all owners. Look on the spec sheet - single A4 sheet, colour card thing from Mazda.

What with the free litre of oil, the Prodrive course @ £500 and the spec of the car, let alone the drive experience, this really is one hell of a deal they have put together.

I know the delays frustrated everyone, but the tone is altering, for all but a few unlucky pre-orderers.

Closest spec car that I could come up with, was in excess of the RX-8's even with virtually all the accessories added to the cost.

Judging by the enthusiasm being shown, the Prodrive crowd are going to have their work cut out when some of us descend on them en masse.

How many individuals do you think at each session??????

My understanding is that it is for all buyers - dont know how long it will continue. I also heard a rumour that the classes dont run over the winter months, so we might not get them until March / April time. Only a rumour though so might be proven wrong.

A few people have cringed when I told them I am getting 22mpg (which incidentally seems to be improving slightly now the car is run in, despite the caning it ocassionally gets) but with all these goodies thrown in for the price we get more than adequate compensation.
