Pre-Order Website Launch
Have just put phone down to my Dealer (he called me!).
He has an official notification from MAZDA that the Website will be up and running officially on 28/2/03.
He says it will be for Customers and Dealers to pre-order and that he will do this for me.
He says there are 4 launch colours not 3 as in other thread!
Information is at the best patchy and he's as frustrated as I am, if he apologises once more I shall be looking for a discount.
He also informed that he will get 2 demonstrators during 2003 which is nowhere near enough (his words).
EVERYBODY PLEASE CALL THEIR DEALERS TODAY AND LET'S POOL THIS INFO AND SEE WHAT'S REAL!!!
Cheers

Right - just got off phone to my dealer (who must be starting to get sick of me by now).
He knows nothing about any '3 colours only' - as far as he knows titanium available from the off.
He thinks the launch date will be August anyway. He has had no official communication from mazda aside from
- Website live late feb.
- Pre-orders satisfied before on-line orders.
He also mentioned that it was a good job that I put my money down when I did, he has taken 9 deposits now !
He also said I was first and will be satisfied first as far as he is concerned.
He also commented that I seemed to know more than him about developments. I get the feeling Mazda coordination is not all it could be.
That's it - so no news really...
Morgan.
PS - He did say some of his orders have specified they do not want the car until 1st september as they want new reg plate.
Not an issue really as I am putting a private plate on it - but some may want to wait the extra weeks....

My dealer has no more info at present but has always promised to keep me informed.
If delivery does go into August, as much as I want it I may wait unitil Sept for the reg plate. Not that I care about the plate but it should increase the resale value by being an 2003/53 as opposed to a 2003/03 plate.
My last scoob I sold fetched £700 more as it was a Sept 1 '51' plate as opposed to an August 'Y' plate.

Valid point.
Mine is going onto a private plate which will probably go with the car when sold , plus I am not sure I could wait the extra weeks !
We shall see.
Oilman - Congrats on your new status 'Senior Member' huh ? Damn that weeks holiday , I need to catch up with some posting !

Although I could not speak to my specific sales guy today as he was out, I spoke to his another who knew less than ever. They have not received any updates recently and therefore he presumes that all 4 launch colours are still available. Nothing else.
Also, I would be very surprised (but pleased) if I could negotiate any discount from them. If such an offer is put forward please advise so that we can all take advantage.
