Well, that looks OK.
I was wondering where it was going. Some no dount will go for those dreadful sticker-on-the-bonnet style
On the subject of plates - those who want their car ageless and may be considering a plate, the DVLA do not yet seem to have discovered the RXB string.
i.e. If your name was 'Fred' for £250 you could register your new car as "F5 RXB" or 'F's RX8' with [illegal] slight spacing...
Not everyones cup of tea - but if you look at anything with 'MX5' or MXS etc they go for lots of cash as people have realized that they reflect the car model.
RX8 has currently slipped through - but I dont expect it to last.

I think I agree it looks better in the lower down position.
When in the default area it blocks the look of that lovely 'intake' look of the front end.
I do see a couple of problems with your design though...
Firstly - I am not sure if it is legal - I have a feeling the number plate must be at a certain height or something. May be wrong though.
Secondly , on some close up piccies I have seen of the car , the large black 'intake' area at the front is in fact not a real intake. There were piccies show that there is a solid black oblong behind the grill (designed to mount the numberplate against) I presume.
Therefore , it may actually look a bit strange with a big blank black area in the shape of a numberplate at the front , and the plate mounted down low !
Also - there may be oil coolers or similar at the bottom (there are certainly some kind of radiators next to the spot lights) and putting a plate may block the air flow.
So - Agree with your theory - but it may not look so clearcut when you actually see the car.
Keep us posted....

Licence plate position
Isn't it about time car designers realsized that some countries and locales require a plate on the front and design accordingly!
I live in California and don't plan of messing up the front with my plate - tho' the way Big Brother adds more and more cameras to intersections I may be looking at a hefty 'fix-it' ticket.
