No Changes to Pre-Order Allowed...

I've been checking the Pre-Order section of the Mazda (UK) site nearly every day for the past few weeks. Unlikely as it was, I was logging in to check whether it would say anything other than "Your Order Has been Accepted".

I may have been deluding myself but, I'd hoped it might even give some order tracking info such as..."your vechicle has been manufactured", or, "Your vehicle has been shipped" or even "Your delivery date is...".

Imagiune my surprise when I tried to login in this morning to find the following

"IMPORTANT: Cars are currently being allocated, therefore no vehicle specification changes are allowed to existing orders as per our Terms and Conditions in order for us to deliver cars to dealers.

If you have any queries please contact your chosen dealer. "

...but accoring to the pre-order contracts you can make one change up to 28 days prior to your delivery date. Since most of us haven't recieved delivery date...what's Mazda up to?

C.

got a point there mate, we dont have delivery dates so changing one item should not affect delivery but im sure Mazda will find a way out of it, cars are so close now that changes are impossible because for some of us the cars are in transit which im sure you know means its built already.

Why would you want to change an item so far along the line?

I changed my order about 1 month ago to no sunroof and that delayed my order for 1 month.

Someone ask another person who knows the real answer to this question...

If we have a contract with Mazda which states that we can make changes up to 28 days before delivery, but not after that point...

And...

They are now saying we can no longer make any changes...

Can we hold them to a delivery date within the next 28 days?

Got this email ....

Thank you for placing an order for your
Mazda RX-8 and your patience in awaiting the delivery of your vehicle.

The Mazda RX-8 pre-order internet service is due to shutdown at 5pm, 22nd
October 2003.

It will no longer be possible to change or amend your order via the Mazda RX-8
pre-order website. If you have any queries regarding your order, please contact your chosen dealer. Alternatively contact Mazda on 08457 48 48 48 if you have any questions regarding the shutdown of the pre-order site.
