I love the way there always seem to be about a million different stories on these forums as to what's been said about delivery of these cars and how everything anyone has been told will affect all of us.

Personally, my dealer phoned me up directly (not me trying to contact them and pressure for a delivery date) and told me that they would have their "launch" party on the 31st of October when their own demonstrator would be present and that I would be able to take delivery of my car the following week, the first week of November.

Until I am told otherwise by my dealer, that is the story I shall be believing...

Too much rumour and speculation for my liking and until Mazda tells me otherwise I have a letter stating November.

November it is according to my Dealer.

Calm Down

Cheers

FeeFee

You are incorrect. SOME people will be slipping into December. They are not sure how many. I just got the RX8 line to read me the statement. The confusion lies around what the maximum 15 days is - time from UK port to Dealer, or from foreign port. Where does the ship from Japan first dock?

(change of tune since your first post telling us all it wil arrive when it arrives by the way??)

So you're going to drop a bomshell like that and just leave us waiting until tomorrow?

Look, the situation is, there are a lot of delivery dates in early November, because at least one of the ships has already docked. It sounds like Mazda were trying to make you friend feel better about being in one of the later boats.

What on earth are Mazda going to do with these early cars for the next month if they don't deliver them in November? And why would they want to wait another month to be paid?

i'm not concerned about when my car will arrive, have waited months using the train and my partners car as it is, sure it will be worth the wait in any case,

was just passing on what i heard, but am glad to hear that it looks like it will all end happily.

well done edo for making the call!

might just call my dealer in the morning to check though........

For the record: I have been told that my dealer has been given an ETA "TO THEM" of 5th December. OK, this is disappointing, but if true means I will get my car within a week of that, so well before Xmas.

I've now reset my clock to Mid-December despite the letter saying November. I would suggest that anyone ordering Hi Power Red's with red/black leather and sat nav after mid June should think in a similar vein.

I feel for you guys in the U.K. I live in the States and was able to walk on the lot September 5, and purchase my 8, I didn't get any add-on's but they had one that I wanted. I've been anticipating getting an 8 when they showed it in 2001, and just unexpectedly went down and couldn't resist. Hannd in there guys, it's worth the wait.
