Mazdaspeed bodykit

TW White in Milford has a tit grey with full Mazdaspeed kit on it. I have to admit that it looks much better in the flesh than I thought.

BUT: I think they have a problem.

When I took a closer look at the nose section, only one of the oil cooler vents is real. The other is blocked off. I am assuming that Jspec cars only have one oil cooler. So this is bad, right ?

The part I really like about the nose section is that there is a wire grill over the front of the oil coolers and radiator vent. Why oh why couldn't mazda do that as standard to our cars? Those oil coolers are a bit fragile.

A few of the guys on here probably realise now that I am in love with this kit. I have mine on order, got to wait till March though
Not sure about what you are refering to? Could you explain more please. Do you think that you can unblock the part you refer to?
I am getting my kit direct from Japan, saving a fair amount on TW Whites price. My car is going to be winning blue, so if anyone has any pics of that with MS kit please post :D

Tony,

They have the Winning Blue car with the kit on at the Bookham branch of Whites now. I took pics at the weekend. PM me your email address and I'll send them to you!

jimbobjoe - you sure it wasnt a lo-power version? they have 1 cooler I think.

And the mazdaspeed kit cant cope with the xenon headlight washers that are standard (and legaly required) on the high power.

Anthony,
On the front face of the car there are 3 vents. The large centre vent is for the main water radiator and air conditioner radiator.

This car also has 2 oil coolers mounted low down in front of each front wheel.

On the mazdaspeed kit the front right oil cooler vent is fake, ie there is a grill there, but behind it is blocked off.

I doubt that this was a low power, although I didn't check to see how many gears it has. I'm sure it can't be hard to cut the necessary hole, but it would need to be done prior to fitting the nose section.

As as Rob points out, this kit will not allow the headlight washers to be fitted, which is a legal requirement for Xenon fitted cars these days.

AFAIK, the washers can be left fitted with the Mazdaspeed bumper, just that the bumper doesn't have the holes for the washer jets already cut into it. This could be easily done though....

I have seen the washers done, so not a big problem. I am more interested in the oil coolers issue.

Surely, Mazdaspeed being part of Mazda would not do anything that would be a problem? Think I will have to have a chat with TW Whites, even if I get them to modify accordingly. They are already going to modify so mine can have the front fog lights fitted :D
