I own an 8 in Canada, N. American spec GT 6-spd - with stock N American ECU. If I import my vehicle to Norway, can I get my ECU reflashed with European spec firmware?

Surely this question has been asked before by N American owners who were pissed off at the hp and gas mileage we lost in the last minute reflash before 2003 release.

Any other thoughts on importing 8 from Canada to Noway? I know all about the import tax ... have applied for an exemption based on my expected short length of stay.

I guess they (Norwegians) will strip you down for such a vehicle, and you will be running a 20 years old Toyota as many Norwegians do

took my US spec 8 AT to Finland. Dealer here told me that I could get the EU version PCM flash - but then I would loose the cruise control as the euro models dont have it by default

Now when they have this engine replacement campaign ongoing in USA, I am wondering should I take the euroflash and give up the cruise control ...
