I'm back ! What the hell happened ??

Honestly - I have been away 2 weeks and now we have cancellations , BMWs and S2000s purchased, 350Z bombing on TG.

Honestly - What is the world coming to....?

Morgan.

PS - Was shocked at how badly the 350Z bombed. May go in search of a 350 forum to see what they think...

If you find a 350z forum, post the link!

Personaly, as summed up in an AUS review, there isnt anything that does what an RX-8 Does so I'm sticking with it.

Morgan,

Welcome back! Wondered where you had got to.

I have been sorely tempted by the S2000, but Im still here and holding on at the moment Im waiting for my dealer event at the end of the month and hoping a production RX8 will be there.

Dont watch the Vid doing the rounds at the moment if you dont want to feel a little disappointed with the 8's performance though....

2 ! 2 remaining devotees ! Mwah-ha-ha ! (in the style of 'the count' from Sesame street)

Glad to hear it. Delay is a irritating - car is still hugely exciting. Let them bail - we will have the last laugh !

Wonder if Lensman is keeping 2 orders open still ? (350+RX)

Hey Mark -

If it helps I have done track-work with an S2000..... !

Been to the 25th anniversary for the flight of the 'General Lee'. (I kid you not). Satisfied one childhood ambition and now have a picture of me sitting in a General.
Does this mean anything to anyone else or am I alone ?

I too remember the General Lee, although I think I leant more towards the Trans-Am in Smokey & the Bandit.

Welcome back mate, missed your guiding light that was the problem. I came close to bailing but saw sense in the end.

It was Catherine Bach that played Daisy.

Barbara Bach was a Bond Girl and married to Ringo Starr (I think)

Yes I remember the general

I presume the track work was in someone else's S2000? What did you think of it?

Morgan,

I'm still here!! Pi$$ed of with the further delays but looking forward to seeing it in the flesh (for the 1st time) tomorrow evening in Bristol at 8.30pm.

Will hopefully fall in love again and wait whatever.

Missus wants an A4 convertible though having driven one and TG said it was the best.

Pressure, Pressure. It's my money though!!

Cheers

October is not so far away.

I am pretty convinced you will love it when you see it.
I was pretty blown away by it.... Be sure to let us know.

Morgan.

PS - A4 - capable , but pretty boring - certainly no RX equiv I am afraid - sorry ! (and as for that diesel - uugghhh. The devils own satanic fuel...)

Right - here's some positive thoughts for you -

We ordered in Week2 of the year -
End of october is week 44
We are currently in Week28....
So only 16 weeks left !

This means we are already 62% of the way through the wait !

It will arrive , it'll be great, and the wait will seem irrelevant in time. Hang in there....

Positive

This thread is getting way to positive for my liking.
Doom, DOOM, we'ra all doomed!

Glad to have another positive voice back in the fold.
How did you manage two weeks without daily updates on the RX-8.

I'd like to know as I'm about to disappear for a couple of weeks.

Thank the Lord there's no diesel S2000 or the fifth rider of the Apocalypse would be driving a Honda!

Why knock diesel cars. Yes they sound different but there are some great diesel engines around with impressive performance figures.

Just my opinion.

Cheers

If you're even remotely musical then the sound of a diesel idling is quite possibly the most irritating sound in the known universe... That alone is enough to eliminate them all!

Hehehe , they knock themselves?

Honestly , yes they may have power, may have bucket loads of torque, but there not sporty. And they smell. And there noisy.

What never? I mean new turbo-diesels are continually getting faster, smoother and more econonmical all at the same time. I reckon in 5-10 years time buying a diesel will just be a complete no-brainer in terms of price/performance. In fact the government probably won't let you buy anything else for environmental reasons.

I intend to keep the RX-8 for quite a few years, so I reckon it could be my last petrol engine car.

Diesel cars - devils spawn indeed.

I work for British Gas (see where this is going OILman) and I'd much rather go LPG before I DIE(sel).
