I am devistated..

Just spoke to my dealer. My beautiful car has arrived...wait for it...my worst fears have been realised. I can not have the RX8 until my current car has done 80,000 miles. I have done 76,000 (means about 4 weeks wait - 4 x 1,000 per week).

Leaseplan...you have ruined my week...it will now have to be a new Christmas present to myself...

Pillman,

I have just realised who you are

Gutted on the car mate, I'd like to offer you mine but I'm not sure I can tear myself away from it, maybe in a few weekends time mate?

Yeah, cheers..at least I negotiated with leaseplan, they told Paul at Mazda Mar'01. After I had picked myself up off the floor, I had a chat with them and agreed 80k. Should be 18-20th Dec. But might postpone it until 01.01.04 for new plate.

Can't you just take a few extra trips up and down the M1 to accelerate procedings?

It's crossed my mind (however, I set off from Manchester on Friday at 2pm and got home in Surrey at 9pm). 260 miles in 7hrs. not exactly notching up the miles...

If you're talking about an ??04 ??? plate then you're waiting for March, not January.

You'll get an '04 car, as in a 2004 registered car, but an '04' plate won't be issued until 1st March, not 1st Jan.

Bah.

Jack up the rear of the car, put it in 5th and run overnight. Should add plenty of miles.

Nah nah nah.
Juts go to the lock ups under the arches and ask for Arfur.
Get him to clock it for you and stick on 4k....

Would be fun to see a surprised look on one of these guys for that request...........

It may have been better to do this before you asked the lease company about the mileage.
