5W-30 mate. Should also look into getting one, or at least downloading one online.

10w-40 or 15w-40 fully mineral are popular choices atm and cheap too there is an argument among specialists here that the mazda recommendation causes premature bearing wear and an old school full mineral oil is the better way to go.

Interesting. Do they have proof or is it something that they're currently looking into?

most claim from experience in rebuilding engines saying that once rebuilt and run with mineral they show no sign of bearing wear if there stripped down again and the mineral burns off nice and clean leaving no residue.
Im not saying there right or wrong but ive been running 15w-40 for over 4 years with no issues.

My assumption is the additives they put in the oil. Just like gas, oil has additives in it as well. That's as far as I can go. I'm sure the additives they put into the oil is kept secret...

Yeah I used to run that but when I got my rebuild the rotary specialist told me to use mineral only as per his warranty and pretty much all the other UK specialists recommend it, but opie will carry on pushing the 5w-30 as they dont stock full mineral oil also I was told like alot of others that I can premix with the mineral which I also do.

But to stop this thread turning into an oil thread id say go over to the UK RX8 club and check out the numerous threads on the subject.

Lol sorry not trying to start a war, i know its a touchy subject, i've looked though lots of threads on UK site and now my head is blagged.

I've contacted Mazda they told me to use

Oil required for your RX-8 would be Dexelia Ultra TFE 5/30.

5 litres would be £54.07 incl VAT.

Is this mineral oil?

Thanks

Please don't premix with any 'engine' oil.

Premix goes in your gas(petrol)tank and should never be confused with a 5w30, mineral or otherwise....

I'd go with a 10w40. Fuchs is a great brand.
