Just changed the players car for one of the missions I'm designing for a PS2 game to be a Mazda RX8.:D

Probably get to drive that one before I drive my real one

Sorry not modelled yet, only decided today.

Going to be in a 'Fast and Furious' type scenario so it's gonna have the Mazdaspeed kit on it and a flash paint job.

On a related topic has anyone else dug out Gran Turismo A-Spec since ordering the RX8 so that they can take one for a blast round a few of the circuits?:D

Shame they only gave me one in Velocity Red, a Titanium one would have been much more fun! :p

my 491 bhp mutant blue with every mod can out lap the 700bhp calsonic skyline (round the complex string test course)

althought the 787B eats both for breakfast.

Have you fully modded the Suzuki Pikes Peak Edition car - over 1200 BHP!! It's a bugger round bends but that doesn't matter when you're twice as fast as anything else on the straights!

Until the date slipped for GT4 I thought I was going to get my hands on a new RX8 in the game before I did in real life.

Looking forward to the next instalment though.

Da Suzuki pikes kart as thats what it is, is totally undriveable at 1200bhp there isnt a straight long enough to build up speed only for you to slam on the anchors before you get to the corner.

nevertheless its fun!!!

found a glitch, full power in the escudo down the laguna seca straight and the car punched straight through the barrier at the 1st corner, ended up driving around in static with just the paralax scenery visible.

escudo doesn't corner worth a damn, instead try an F1 car, give it an oil change before 1st use and you can get an extra 30bhp out of it.

(still have two races left to complete the game, that f1 set of races is a pig)

hrm, in the us version of gt3 my escudo has 1811 hp. basically impossible to drive tho, has a difficult time holding the corners on test course =p fastest car is f094/s i guess the european equivalent is the polyphony 001 or something like that.

Ah, collision detection, the bane of all driving games. Go too fast/slow and you can sometimes trick it. You can employ testers to drive into barriers for days on end looking for holes and flaws, but you'll never catch em all.

Generally you have to put in some sort of failsafe so if the car does find itself outside the "world", the car respawns or the race ends. Sony of course are a law unto themselves and can probably get away with it...
