Gutted

Just had a call from my dealer, my car will be docking (where?) on the 16th December. He forsee's that i will not have my car before Christmas.

It's not his fault, and he has promised to make some calls and see if it can be fast-tracked in any way, but i'm just sick of this.

I can't remember what my letter said exactly, did it give our months as 'delivery' months to us, or to the UK/dealer?

You ordered a Vel red + red leather low-power car?

They were always coming a month later, from what I've seen hi-power red/red leather are arriving mid/late november so + 1 month sounds about right for your date.

Shame the whole thing has been pushed back as much as it has, I'd be pished if I didnt get my car before christmas.

From what my dealer has said the date he has for mine is the release date from port ( same as your 16/12?), and it can take from 3 - 15 days to deliver to dealer, then 1-2 days to prep (depending on dealer time/priority).

Possible you have your car before xmas, mebbe.

Bad luck my friend, we're all suffering...

My letter says December is "when your Mazda RX-8 will be ready for collection at your nominated dealership". No room for ambiguity there...

When did you place order?

Order was placed in March lurcher, if my letter states the same as yours i'll be holding them to it, or expecting compensation.

Rob, I knew that i'd be in the second batch, a month later, but was told December delivery (to me - at least that's how i read it). My dealer said the date was arrival at port, if it was release i'd be fairly confident of getting it before Christmas.

If it is any consulation Goose, I orderd my hi powerd vel red, red leather & sta nav in jan this year. Was given a month of Nov for delivery, then was told early Dec. After reading other threads yesterday who knows when it will arrive. Having said that, it is in transit and can not blame anybody now - thats life. Stick in there, it will be worth the wait I can assure you. On the bright side, the offical launch is only days away, that will make the waiting a little bit easier as cars are now arriving, even if they are 3 months late

I don't feel any sincerity there Rob!

9398 would have been sincere.

:p

This whole process is making me feel more and more like part of an Indiana Jones film....'only the penetent man will pass......'

Look at it this way...

You'll have lots of other pressies to keep you amused over Xmas. And then you'll be able to start the new year in your new car. Also it will be registered as a 2004 vehicle, which may help residuals slightly

Sorry to hear of your delay Goose.

However, I do appear to be on the 1st boat as apparently my car is due to dock at Rotterdam on October 29th. Should be about 2 weeks after I get my car, according to my dealer.

We shall see......

So does anyone else have a similar delivery date and info of Rotterdam?

Stu C

Edit : Just noticed, My CAR is not due to dock at Rotterdam, but it will be on the boat that does! Glug!

:D

What a difference a day makes.........

After a little call to the helpline explaining the situation they assured me that i'd not been given the correct info. The email to the dealers was a little confusing apparently, at least for them! My car will be ready for collection at the dealer, and not landing in port, on the date i was given. A few minutes later my dealer phoned to confirm.

And kindly offered me some free mats, and to make the arrangements for my RXB reg to go directly onto the car, so the car will not be issued with a 53number. I'm thinking this will save them some money............

Goose,

I have the same spec car as you : 5 Speed, Red, Red & Black leather and also ordered in March.

I have been told today a date of 2nd December + 10-12 days to get to dealer & PDI, giving a date of approx 18th December.

Looks like our cars are twins. With delivery approx the same date.
