I love Germany. If you get to Austria, rent a BMW 3 Series (they're like Cobalts in Europe) and check out Die Großglockner Hochalpenstraße. It winds through the Alps and is the highest road in Europe, only open in the Summer. If you like twisties, Die Großglockner Hochalpenstraße is sports car heaven.

In Heidelberg, Germany and we got upgraded with our rental car. We were suppose to have a C class but now we have an E class. I feel like a baller driving around. BTW you Germans, this may sound stupid but are all of the highways considered the autobahn?

The germans do have some kickass rentals, I drove a 5-series when I first got here for 7 months.

Wow, was that spendy? My boss going over there with his wife for a tennis recruiting trip for the university, and their rental is about $1200 for a week or two.

What's he renting? The last time I was in Switzerland, a 3-series was rather inexpensive to rent. Of course that was when exhange rates were much more favorable.

A passenger van I think, I'll have to ask him again, but he said something outrageous like 1,200. It might have been because they were going to drive it from Vienna to Paris...
