First CD track

Whilst I appreciate that most of you will be listening to the sounds of 9,000 rpm under your bonnet in the first couple of weeks of ownership, I thought for a bit of fun I would start a thread to ask for everyone’s top three tracks (not whole CD's) that would suit the RX8...not just your favourite tracks…rather the ones that you feel would be inherently suited to the Rx8.

I'll kick off 1st:

Pet shop boys: 'Was it worth it' (not a joke - I love it)
Fatboy Slim: The Rockafeller Skank
New order: Round & Round (would have been good for advert)

The Americans did a similar thing.

I'd say:

'You spin me right 'round' - Dead or Alive

'Daytona' - Chris Rea (cheeky this as it's about a Ferrari but the spirit is right)

'You, shook me all night long' - AC-DC

None of these will be my first play. That'll be either 'Kashmir' (Zep) or 'I Feel Love' by Kingston Wall (a very rocky version of the Donna Summer song and no, I'm not gay ).

Not showing my age but....

since you've been gone - Rainbow
ace of spades - Motorhead
anything by annihilator (canadian rock band that has the most amazing guitar riffs on every album)

I can't see myself driving slowly to this. :D

Stu C

Edit : for serene times, lots of stuff like Joe Satriani, Pink floyd and lots of tracks from the 60's

Who did that 'do-a-diddee-diddee-um didde-ay' track, any one know?

Richard Wagner, Ride of the Valkyries
Danny Elfman, music from the first Batman film
Gustav Mahler, just about anything

and while waiting for delivery: The Cranberries, can't remember which track but the bit that goes "you'll have to hold on, you'll have to hold on, hold on, hold on..." etc.

The Propellerheads album, came out in 1998 or so, is great on the twisties, car chase flavoured.

I too have been pondering this question and after much deliberation it has to be the Foo Fighters - 'All my life'. A real 'kicking' track with spot on lyrics for all of us here...

Here's the first verse..

All my life I've been searching for something
Something never comes never leads to nothing
Nothing satisfies but I'm getting close
Closer to the prize at the end of the rope
All night long I dream of the day
When it comes around then it's taken away
Leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most
The feeling comes to life when I see your ghost

Or you could go with 'Born to Run' by Frankie goes to Hollywood.

I'm not a rocker, but I have to agree - a rock track would go well with the engine sound.

Mine first thoughts were:
Faithless - She's my baby
Prodigy - Full Throttle
Something by Rammstein for the rock track

Other possibles:
Kylie - Spinning Around (one of a number of topical tracks - hadn't thought of New Order - Round and Round [one of my fave bands])

Would agree with many of the previous suggestions also.
Since I've gone with the MP3 player option I'll just burn a suitable selection beforehand... D

Oh my god...can you remember the video that went with 'Round and Round'...just a selection of young pouting babes on a black and white 8mm movie...

The inspiration was taken from a CD which I do own, however the actual "Mazda" version is not available... was created specifically for the advertising campain.

Come on Blue Adept - which CD? I've got to get it now, just to keep up my reputation for bad taste (in everything but cars of course)

I think we have already gone over this a bit before, although some of these were a mix of albums and tracks.

Amazingly I remembered cos someone else said the propellerheads album too

Its amazing how similar the lists are. Bizarrely when I was searching for propellerheads, its actually surprising to me at least how many '8 owners across the globe cite this as the best album for the car.

Must get me a copy off ebay...

I think its worth mentioning that since I got my car I have left the sound system turned off. The soundtrack from the engine and exhaust is better than any CD I can think of. When you guys get yours (soon I hope!) you will know what I mean! But once the novelty wears off I think its gonna be Spearhead or Chemical Brothers.
