Early Present

I just chased up my dealer regarding the print. Not only did they confirm that they had this and would send it registered to my home BUT would also enclose the special rotary watch which they would have given me upon delivery of the car (now late January due to moonroof cancellation).

Nice gesture but could be my dealer only, not Mazda UK watch deal.

I think the pre-order customers in Germany get the watch.

I don't think it is a Mazda UK watch, although it could be another sweetener for when they delay the deliveries till next January.

Sorry for sounding cynical.

Sweeteners aren't sweeteners anymore. Mazda can continue to do this, but little at present (for me anyway) will compensate for no RX8. Its going to cost me about £1000 for the delay, i.e. running my existing car due an MOT, Insurance (big hit here) and trying to sell my car in the winter periods (no ones going to buy unless its given away).

I want my car.

So we get a godawful print in a life threatening frame and they get a reasonably cool watch... hmmm

Considering our inability to sway either earlier deliveries or compensation just accept something unusual and free and stop all this moaning.

Sorry I'm a little confused - who's getting the watch and if it's not all of us why?

Yes your right, not bad at all. I'd much rather have this than the "Toilet" print.

Just for clarification, this watch came from the dealer not Mazda and would have been part of the delivery package. I think its dealer specific but presume the watch is sourced from Mazda so don't know for sure.

Rael,

this watch is part of the mazda germany preorder marketing program. The first 888 preorders in Germany ordering a high power 8 model revolution/top will receive this watch for free with the handover of their 8.

have fun ...

Does anyone know how this all works. I mean Mazda Germany decided to give its first 888 customers a watch. In the UK we get the print and book. I read on another thread that the Canadian customers got very little. Is it left up to the individual marketing departments in each country to decide?

Opened my package from Mazda last night. The print, and I presume we have all got the same, is a blue RX8 prototype sketch. Okay but nothing exciting and does not really represent the car as it looks today, may be worth putting up in the playroom, maybe.

The watch on the other hand is quite neat and not the one suggested above but one I had seen in the dealers back in Jan. Its black and steel colour, rotary shaped and quite flat. Sits between 'dress' than 'sports' watch with various inner dials for timing but not waterproof. Certainly good enough to wear and Mazda motif very small. Very worth it as a freebie.
