doom and gloom

There seems to be a general negativity on the board at the moment... with this in mind how many of you are seriously considering cancelling your order?

And you expecty anything else at the moment?

We should have been driving our 240ps cars for a month now.

Now we still have 2 months to wait(at least) and we might be getting 231ps.

I'm sure we'll all cheer up when we get the cars, but I coul dhave had 6 months(easy) in another car, having fun this summer, I was all in for swapping my focus for an MX-5 or something but it wasnt worth it for a month or two.

Oh and the worst? The TOTAL lack of information, lies, missed deadlines and promisses that mazda continue to do.

By the end of the month (3 days away) were supposed to have our framed print and a letter telling us when to expect the car.

I've only JUST had my welcome pack (reciept) for a car I ordered in may...

Cool Never....

I have had my '8' for a month now, with 3000kms on it.

Red/Red 6MT, and the buyout is the furthest thing from my mind -
as I stated in the Canada section;
"This car is a Keeper!, They can have it back when they pry it from my cold (very cold!) dead hands!"

I also owe Mr. Rob Dickinson an apology - when the U.K. cars were re-rated as 231hp, I suggested he change his sig to read "medium power". ..........it doesn't seem so funny at this moment. I guess we are all in the same boat.

Hope you all get cars soon - keep the faith!

No apology needed, as our 231ps cars are probably the same power as your 238bhp cars anyhow...

I think it's because for some of us this car purchase is a big deal. I've never bought a car from new for myself (only for the gf) and never pre-ordered something as expensive as this car. As I'm not one of the £100k + income members purchasing this car it's also a big deal financially and thus I've can't afford to part-ex so have to organise the potentially painful private sale of my T5.

Mazda's poor communications and the delays to this car mean that it's difficult to 'line up the ducks' ready for the new car and there are financial implications with servicing and tyres due.

I hope that explains my negative attitude at the moment.

I'm sure it will all change when I drive the car for the first time (or even when I get a proper delivery date) but as I'm in Wales I won't be seeing a car much before mine arrives.

Feel, exactly the same as you Andy.

Every expense on the current car reduces the chances of me getting accessories.

As I'm just about maxed out on the finances buying the car in the first place.

Andy, my sentiments exactly, the whole experience leaves a bad taste, putting myself into debt for an unknown quantity has me nervous.

with delivery getting further and further away, while my existing car bio-degrades (exhaust just failed again + cracked ball joint cover + service + MOT + tax) the idea of cutting my losses and plumping for a safer prospect becomes more appealing. (I'm hoping to test drive a second hand BMW 530d tomorrow, but again what will the new model do to residuals)

BMW 530d?? Nice car - if you're an accountant. Dont do it, the 8 will be worth the wait.

LOL - :D

It's surprising the amount of BMW's who won't get out of my way on the motorway , presumably because I'm only driving a Volvo! I know you can't generalise but there are far too many beemer driveers who think they own the road.

KEF, I have a lovely K reg Silver MX-6 for you, it has a full exhaust system replaced over the last 6 months, four new tyres, new timing belt, four new brake disks and two new sets of pads, and 12 month MOT.

All told recent maintenance cost over 1000 and I'm being told by the dealer he can only give me 1500 part ex for the car.

I'll let you have it for 2K.
