Diamondbrite
Diamondbrite
Confirmed my order today and dealer asked me if I wanted 'Diamond Brite' protection.
Apparently this will protect and coat the paintwork for six years and you wont need to polish the car (although Im sure I still will!).
Also the interior protection will coat the leather, stop it creasing/cracking and protect it from dirt and stains and make it easier to clean.
Finally it will also protect the carpets from stain, dirt etc.
The cost of this was £300 so I have said yes, as it sound quite good, particularly having the Red leather which may get dirty.
Anyone got any experience of this product and have I made a wise decision.
I think I have found their website at http://www.jewelultra.com/diamondbrite.htm

Mark,
This type of product is not bad, I had it done on a Fiat Barchetta I had a few years back and it did make a difference when the car was washed. I polished it anyway though. Two points though:
1) Have a look round for aftermarket products. My brother bought a TT and had the same paint treatment done for only £80. Companys such as Waterless offer similar treatments.
2) Make sure the treatment on the seats has a warranty. When the roof leaked on my Barchetta the garage valetted the inside and reapplied the stain coating for free because they were able to claim back the cost. It is much easier to the garage to do this instead of chasing a third party contracter.
Will I take it? I didn't decide as I reckon I have plenty of time to choose. It may depend on finance, I think a Tracker will take priority.
Cheers
Glen

Tracker a necessity, for a few months. Every little ****** is going to want to get behind the wheel aren't they.
I've not actually read anywhere if we get an alarm. I assume on a £24,000 car that we do. Just haven't noticed it in all the information overload

I think the treatment for the exterior has value although should not cost you more than circa £100, otherwise the dealer is really making a massive profit. Inside I think it has less value unless you will be carrying kids all then time. My concern is that any treatment on the plastic/ leather will leave a shiny residual.
Tracker may be required for insurance. IMHO its value is questionable. You cannot advertise the tracker on the car so it has no deterent value. It just means that you will probbaly get your car back (unless its crated up very quickly) but do you want your car back after its been thrashed?
I think the whole tracker issue (pros, cons, value, type, costs etc)will become more important as we reach delivery date.
