Decisions! Decisions!
I just can't make my mind up on colour.
The recent pictures of the "red" in main forum under Swiss press pack have blown me away again.
I'd love to see the red in the flesh. I'd opted for Titanium but am swaying again (mid life crisis) and luckily told Dealer Colour etc is to be confirmed.
I have to say this car is so stunning and the colours are some of the best I've seen on any car. What do you think??
Cheers

Titanium or silver... depends on how much contrast you want with the black accents on the car. I picked silver because I wanted to notice the black styling accents.

Colours are really difficult to chose, until you see the car in the flesh on your drive! As we're all pre orderer's we ain't got the luxury.
I chose red, as it looks fantastic in all the press pictures and the fact that in the UK there are few red cars at present , the RX will stand out even more.
Silver was an option but there are just too many silver cars out there. How many silver TT's do you take a second look at now?
The red is also (according to my dealer) a release colour, and as I want to get behind the wheel as soon as possible, I did'nt want to jepordise a longer wait chosing another colour and seeing another RX 8 overtaking me on the motorway, while I'm still waiting for mine.

Guess I was just lucky...
My favourite car colour on just about anything is 'Gunmetal' or 'Titanium'.
If I could have anything it would have been this , so the 4 colour choice is really not an issue for me !
In fact it was almost the deciding factor. I was teetering on the edge when the colours were announced. When I saw there was to be a titanium that was it - Sold.
Maybe I am just shallow ?
Damn it looks gorgeous - I too live in fear of seeing another one overtaking me on the motorway before I get mine. Also v.v.v.keen to be in the first 1000 and be involved in whatever 'incentive' is to be announced by Mazda. My dealer thought it may be 'LeMans' related...

I have the same inability to make a decision and the above posted pictured have not made that easier.
Initially I wanted red but was told that it would be a very bright red with an orange tint. Not for me. Then I read that somebody else has seen the red and thought it more darker with a hint of burgandy, now that I would like.
I like the tit grey too but fear it will come up too dark (seeing it on the Mazda 6) and keeping it clean may be more difficult.
That leaves silver for me as my present choice although I agree that it is becoming a comon colour BUT I am hoping the striking and different shape of the RX8 will allow it to stand out from other silver cars.
But this lack of information is very frustration. Is this any way to run a Mazda franchise?

I have had some problems to choose the color too. But yes I think the colours posted made that decision easier.
Initially I wanted titanium then I switched to nordic green which is close to black. I know this dark green from the MX 5 wich looks grat with that colour. So I ordered the green one.
Then I was heavily tempted by red. Especially the dark shade to be taken from the press kit looks good. May be keeping clean the red may be relatively easy too. Not to forget the bicolour interior. So I was thinking about going to the dealer again and amending the contract.
The pictures above wiped away may doubts however. Black is magnificent and so will be green. I love it. Nordic green that is it.:D

Pff........hard man! I like all the colors. But I thinl Titanium Grey is uhm.....too soft. I dunno, makes the car less muscular or something. But maybe it is just the pictures. Silver looks great, but the color is a bit too normal, you know? Every boring Golf and Astra has it. Red looks great too.

I agree. Silver is boring and titanium is boring too. Opel Vectra's colour! Think about black or any other dark colour. That is definately not too soft. After all I personally think that there are merely two serious options left: yellow or black (and of course green which is close to black). Think about it - you will envy me when I drive my nearly black car.

"Treat anyone with a yellow car with suspicion. Anyone who walks into a showroom and selects yellow from the vast array of coolour available is not normal. Never go to bed with anyone who has a yellow car"
Jeremy Clarkson - from an article in 'Born to be riled'
Well - Jezzas word is law here in the UK so thought you may find it helpful...

I saw the yellow pre production showcar and I was allowed to sit in. Other than the showcar the preproduction has had yellow leather inserts in the seats. This looks very cool. And the sunburst yellow is really an amazing color. Unfortunately the yellow black bicolor seats are not available - only plain black seats. Too bad. Anyway, my car will be dark green.
I got the feeling you will not sleep with me because of my inclination to yellow. I think that's okay - I will learn living with it.

AFAIK the yellow on the pre production car is not available for production. This was a mica paint whereas the yellow for production is a solid colour. Not that I want yellow anyway.

Have a look at the post entitled 'Laguna Footage from Mazda' in the 'RX-8 Multimedia - Photo Gallery' section of the main site.
There is a video taken on a digital camera, its not excellent quality, but it gives a better idea of the different colours. All four colours are shown (athough I'm not sure about the red being the production red ).
I'm now sure I've made the right decision on colour.
At least I won't have to change my name now. :D

That red look's great and I would order if I could g'tee that was the actual colour.
On another note, something which attracted me from day 1, when looked at from the front the RX8 looks a bit like the old E-type (last incarnation) with the long bonnet and high front window....or is that juts me?

The blue looks pretty stunning in this picture too (some of the other blue pics have ranged from average to downright unpleasant). About time they got some samples over to the dealers methinks.

There seems to be a bit of talk about the blue - but we are not getting it in the UK.
Does anyone know when this situation will change ?
I am guessing it will be like the S2000 and we will start with v.ew colours and slowly expand.
(or like my integra when you only had 1 colour and eventually expanded to 3!)
The americans or canadians (well somewhere over there anyway) are all up in arms because they cannot have white. Yuk !
I know , I know , it is all down to taste....

Oh , and one more point -
Has anyone noticed how ab-sol-ute-ly GORGEOUS the line of the front wing is when viewed from the rear 3/4 area ?
It is great , a real curve that bulges and everything !
I really hope that you can see the bonnet line and the 2 flared wings at either side when driving it - that would make it feel very special.
My friend has an Elise , and although I do not think it is a particularly beautiful car (and it is certainly not plush!) it does feel special to drive partly thanks to the view from the front - the wings bulge in front of you and it looks great from within!
Hope the RX8 manages the same trick.
Check out simons links to the Blue and the top picture will show you the view I mean...

Hey MarkW,
Those pics are good but, these are GREAT!
If the red looks like these pics, I'll just have to accept my mid-life crisis and go for RED with RED/BLACK Leather, it's a special sports car afterall.
Cheers
