Close to cancelling. Anyone else?

Ive just about had my fill of MAZDA UK. If it wasnt for the fact that I really want the car I would have cancelled by now. But ive hung on and hung on waiting on things improving (like most of the members here) and what happens? It just gets worse. How difficult would it have been to inform us about the BH appearance. They have our email addresses and a news forum on their web-site. But that seems beyond them. The Swindon dealer told me yesterday that MAZDA are trying to build suspense before lauch!!! Personally i think they are employing idiots at their HQ who dont have a clue about customer care.

What they have acheived is to make the pre-order customers concerned that after sales service will be as 'good' as the pre-arrival experience!

Sorry for the rant but im teetering on the edge now and it will only take the slightest thing for me to cancel. Anyone else feeling the same way?

Forget about the immediate hick-ups. When you get your car out of the dealership, get on the road, get the jealous stares of other inferior car owners, and enjoy the sounds and pleasures of your new car, it will all be worth it. Buying a car is always a pain. But, you quickly forget all that when you roll off the dealer's lot.

Not so. Any cars i have bought previously have been easy going. I pre-ordered the MR2 roadster in 2000 and was kept well informed by Toyota. The big difference i feel this time is that Mazda dont actually have a clue.

My major point is not the way we are treated like mushrooms at the moment, but the fact that Mazda have done nothing to suggest that they can up their game when the car gets to us.

I am not happy with the situation either, see my thread here...

https://www.rx8club.com/europe-forum-36/changing-my-mind-4232/

I am going to try and hang in there and wait to see my RX8, as its only 3 months or less now, but taking each day at a time

If the next 3 months is like the last 3, I will almost certainly change my mind.

I understand the bad feelings (and feel them too!), we all need to calm down.

Yes they appear TOTALLY INCOMPETANT and I hope they're reading these threads but maybe we all need to call and express our unhappiness citing last weekend as an example!

Just an Idea!

Cheers
OILMAN

PS. I want my RX8 anyway:D

Unhappy

Same problems in germany. I've ordered in February and got nothing from Mazda Germany or my dealer yet, not even the information, if winning blue will be available for the first batch...

The only good point is, that we don't have to pay a deposit here...

Has anyone found anything on the pre-order section of the mazdarx8.co.uk pages that hints that it might be more than a fancy way of reminding yourself what options you ordered??

Actually it's only a fancy way of reminding yourself what options you specified on the website. The order database is not synched to the website database and has to be manually updated. This was the case last month anyway and I doubt it's been fixed.

Well I for one am a long, long way from taking such drastic action.

Ok, so Mazda UK have not kept us up to date as well as they should. And yes they have been sending out conflicting, and downright inaccurate, information.

But i really believe that a lot of this is down to them not being told things by Mazda Europe and Mazda Japan.

When I ordered, I was told the car would be available sometime late July, possibly early August, and that my dealership would be unlikely to get a car before that to look at.

I paid my deposit based on this, and I'll wait until my car arrives.

Yes, I'd love to be kept informed on a monthly (as promised) basis.

Yes, I'd love to see the car, and drive it before delivery in July.

And yes, I want to know about insurance ratings, thatcham ratings, and optional extras sometime in June.

Mazda certainly have missed massive opportunities to support it's pre-orderers. But until they start to mess around with delivery dates, prices, specs, etc, I'll stick around and wait.

Yes, that about covers me too... but there are more fickle people out there and i'd hate to see mazda loose a lot of buyers because they aren't doing a good job of customer relations.

Not that i agree with your comment about some being 'more fickle', but fickleness (!) isnt exactly a crime. Im not bothered about the extremely amatuerish customer service so far from MAZDA UK, after all they are not compelled to give us any special treatment. What does worry me is that this may well be indicitive of the level of customer service we can expect AFTER we have the car.

So maybe those of us described as fickle are actually the sensible ones, and all others are foolishly naive. But then I wouldnt be so rude as to suggest that Blue Adept. Only time will tell

Mabe... but then how many people with new cars have anything to do with the manufacturers HQ (Unless somthing is horribly wrong)... I'm sure that most of your contact will be with your dealer after you actually get a car...

Talking

I agree with you on that. The major contact for any aftersales
service will be your dealer, with them contacting Mazda in the
event of anything unusual.

The main problem now is that the dealers still seem to be as in the dark as most of you about final spec, delivery times and accesories. Although a local dealer has confirmed latley they do know when the first demo models will be avalible for test drive, its very intresting to!

:D

Guys,

We're missing the point here. It's the car! The only reason why we have ordered the car in the first place is the anticipation of owning it! And ofcourse, most importantly, driving it.

I don't know what your thoughts are, but Mazda may be playing a very clever pschological game here....maybe the Matrix movie has had an affect on me?

Enjoy the suspence gentleman! The wait will be well worth it!
