Cars at Dealer Next Month.

I having been chasing my dealer (Knightsbrige in Stockport) to get an invite to the roadshow - (still no success ) but today I received a phone call letting me know that I can come to the showroom to see some RX-8's

As I was about to rush down there he then explained that they are looking after some cars before the dealer event at Manchester Airport (5th- 8th August). He suggested coming down on the Sunday 3rd August to see them.
This is the day after the roadshow at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, which he thinks will still be just the blue car.

Phew - its just that Morgan has already scared me today by knowing about NETA and another person would just send me over the edge by the twilight zone-ness of it all!

thanks mark

Mark thanks for the post. I hadn't been contacted by Knightsbridge so I rang them today.
Got told the same story that they are storing the cars for a mazda press show at the Airport.
Dealer said they would have a couple of cars in the show room on the Friday and Saturday for us all to come and see and sit in.
Got to say makes a pleasent change that the car is venturing North -- and not just the blue pre-production model!!
Hope they have a black one but will probably be RED.
Counting down the days!!!!!!

Hi Mark
Yes I have ordered one ( in mid May, Hi power, Black, Cloth) but no invite to Bridgewater Hall!!
Whan I rang up today Collin (I think that was his name ) was surprised I hadn't been contacted about the cars coming to the showroom (but didn't mention anything about the Bridgewater Hall). He said he would look into who is dealing with my order.
Problem is there was about three different sales men involved in my order as they cocked it up so sounds like they all are leaving me to each other and hence no one has actually contacted me!!
Me feels a further phone call tomorrow to put a rocket up someones ar**.
I will let you know how I go on.
Hopefully see you there!

Regards
Richard

I might still turn up to the Bridgewater hall event. It would have been nice to receive an invite. Apparently all pre-orders should have been invited, but obviously this is not true, at least it is not just me.
I also seem to struggle getting information from the sales staff at Knightsbridge.

At the preview event I went to in Bristol there were only a few pre-orders, the rest were "potential orders"

There were also a number of people who "were passing", so if I were you I would pop in.

Invite Arrived

Whoo:D

My Invite just arrived for The Bridgewater Hall event.
This was the posh invite as shown in this thread .

What I did not realise is that the black images shown are printed on either side of a lump of 5mm thick plastic.

I am a happy bunny now

Unhappy

One thing that is really pissing me off is the lack of information regarding where we can see the car.

This Bridgewater event is typical, howsabout somebody posting the timetable (if anybody has it) and when anybody gets wind of an event posting the details of where and when.

You never know, if Mazda get inundated with folks turning up giving them grief they may get the message. ALso we may get the chance to either decide to continue with the long wait or just can it and get a car that may be delivered in our lifetimes.

Getting no information from the dealer at all, and none from Mazda.

Signed,

'Getting really fed up with the wait' - from Skipton

Unbelievable

I agree about the patchy access to the pre-Production cars - the lack of info is unbelievable.

I phoned my dealer ( Newbury ) last week to see if there was anything happening about these events to be told that he'd tried to contact me ( shyeah ) and I could go to Bristol that evening for 7pm as they had several spare tickets for people weren't going.

As I'd been to Canary Wharf and Goodwood I wasn't that fussed, but would have liked a more detailed look and sit.

Of course what I would really have liked ( in the absence of a test drive ) is to at least hear the motor running which didn't happen in London or Goodwood or at any of the showings around the country.

Well, my Employer ( large US database/apps software vendor based in Reading ) had a mini-Motor show thing in the car park here on Friday with a few marques ( Jaguar, Aston Martin, Nissan, Mazda ... ) and had an RX-8 here which they were happily revving up for all and sundry to hear - shame I wasn't in that day ( couch + 10 hours British Open coverage = )

Knightsbridge Mazda

Who is thinking of going to Knightsbridge and when.

I do want to go to the Bridgewater hall (free champagne) and it will be nice to be treated as if I am important by Mazda for once.
My appointment time is 14:00 too 15:00. Besides the Bridgewater is a fantastic building anyway so any excuse to go in is OK by me.

I work in Cheadle Royal so I'm tempted to go along on Friday, but we could go on mass on Saturday or Sunday and have a mini forum meet.

What do you all think?

My Bridgewater Hall invite is for Sunday the 3rd at 10-11 am.
I thought I would go to Stockport late Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Probably the Friday to see what the chances are of a drive over the weekend

Cool

After having a moan on this forum I rang Mazda yesterday and they got back to me early evening with an invite to the Bridgewater Hall gig.

Good that they can actually do things if they are pushed , but poor that they have to be pushed rather than offer these out as a matter of course .

Well at least I will get to see the car, - probably no chance of a drive though, but I think that we all know what that will be like.

So if anybody else from the forum will be there we can have a group moan to Mazda.

I'll be wearing a red carnation in my button-hole (yeah!!)
