Talking Car & Driver Video Review

Have been watching the C & D video time and time again this weekend.

The car looks great in RED with RED/BLACK leather and seems to handle well at Laguna Seca.

0-60 in UNDER 6 secs (WOW!)

I just love the two in power slides, what a car!

Any one else seen it and have any opinions.

I'm looking forward to "THE STIG" giving it some wellie!

Cheers

"The Stig" is a racing driver and therefore has very little brain. It knows not fear or moderation.... (to quote our Jezza).

I forgot about the stig. Man , that is gonna be *GREAT* to watch.
Time should be good too - RX torque deficit will not be so bad on a track when the revs are up.... I predict a pretty damn good time.

Morgan.

PS - Gutted about autosport show. Wouldn't have killed them to post to the forum if Mazda are supposed to be watching it !
Starting to get on my nerves now.

Anyone know who the STIG really is? A mate and I think it could be Damon Hill. But anyway, duuude, that c&d video was amazing to say the least. Took me awhile to download over 56k, but it was worth the wait :D Seriously hope ths car gives me a bigger grin than when my mate let me drive his mr2 round kingston (altho the gearing is too tall, even Tiff Needel said so in the Top Gear review). But wow, if thats what you can do with an rx8, I so want to have a track day, like mallory park or somewhere equally fun, and just have fun :D

Nah , too small for Damon - Damon is nearly 6ft.

We reckoned maybe Johnny Herbert or Vicki Butler-Henderson (mmmmm...)

Naaaaa Morgan!

The "Stig's" a FROG probably Jean Alesi or Alain Prost (he needs a new job anyway).

lol more than likely! Did you ever listen to the music he played in the cars he belted round that track? He had some bad choices in music :D Oh and on another point, that is totally random, me and my mate stopped at this tvr-morgan-noble garage. We took some pictures :D (with the salesman permission). I can get him to scan them in if anyone wants to see them. (gotta wait for him to finish the roll of film tho)

From Malross website

The Stig: unveiled!
This may just be a scurrilous rumour, but it seems the identity of the Stig from the BBC’s Top Gear may be out. Perry McCarthy, one-time Formula 1 flop, is said to be the man with incredibly bad taste in music, although Julian Bailey did deputise on one occasion. Not only that, but he’s lined up to be a co-presenter in the next series. Source: mini2.com.

Of course, whether any of this turns out to be true is anyone’s guess. I’m still just reeling in shock from the sheer quality of the last series. While Channel 5’s 5th Gear plodded along in the style of the old Top Gear and Channel 4’s Driven just lost the plot completely, Top Gear under Clarkson’s guidance has been superb. Roll on series two!
