Question Brushed or Polished ?

Well - although I will not be buying many accessories (the ludicrous prices have ensured this - Crazy money) I have ordered a titanium car , which makes the air-vent accents mandatory...

Question is , brushed or polished ?

I am going towards brushed at the moment as I think they will match better with the wheels. (which of course are very nearby!)

The other view is that polished may match the badges better, although they may not stand out against the titanium paintwork..

In the absence of any actual developments I would be curious to know what everyone else thought !

So - Polished or Brushed ?

Brushed all the way Morgan.

I would like to see them both in the flesh, but the polished may look at bit cheap and nasty and will show up any scratches etc more easily.

If you go for polished, you will need to get the polished wheels as well, otherwise they wont match......

Morgan, if it helps, I too thought about this and am going for Brushed. The Polished ones (my opinion) may date quickly and when they start to go off colour, it'll be more obvious. Go for Brushed to match the alloys. Are you having any other exterior bits (Rotor Accents ?) as I too am having Titanium grey ?

Yeah - brushed I think it is.

As for other bits - I would like the front rotor accents and even maybe the B-pillar trim but on principle I will not be having them I think.
£130 for the B-trim and £80 for the front accent ? That is insane.

I think £175 for the vent trims is disgusting , but like I say , they are mandatory on the titanium (in my opinion)....

M.

PS - I may weaken on the front rotor accent though....

Brushed.

Polished stuff gets dirty easily. Or it shows stains (fingerprints, etc.) easily. You have to clean it all the time to keep it BLING.

Brushed for me Morg!

Don't think polished will go with the wheels. Take your point on the badges as I hadn't considered that.

Maybe someone like Eastmoon has pictures of both on the cars.

Cheers

Brushed here too, along with the front rotor accent.

Currently toying with the idea of the aero kit as well after looking at some of the US cars, but it may prove to be a bit too much (over dressing and money wise).

Morgan, it sounds like you've talked yourself into brushed. On a slightly similar topic, I have one polished (Chrome) light switch which shows up everything (in the dining room) so am installing brushed stainless in the hall !

Brushed for me too. I agree that from the pictures they look like the essential accessory but I want to see them in real life first. I'm tempted by several others but I'm not willing to pay the stupid prices they are charging. I'll wait till 3rd party makes come to the market or even see about import prices. I'm sure we could organise a co-op buy of these things soon after delivery.

Does anyone know how they are attached to the vents ? Just thinking about the ease of theft (not me as the thief but some low life taking mine off).

Changed my mind!

Having been to the roadshow today and seen the accessories, the brushed rotary accents looked awful - like grey plastic and not what I was expecting at all. The polished one looked much better!

It seemed a different colour than the brushed aluminium petrol cap for example, which looked fine.

Unfrotunately I didnt take my camera, or I could have got a pic of it.

Im confused as what to go for now , it may be a combination of both polished and brushed!

I was going for polished until I saw the rationale for the brushed which made sense but then I saw Marks comments now I'm stuck.

I think I'll have to wait and see them but I do like the polished look to go with the polished car.

I also saw the accessories at Heratage Motor Museum for Roadshow. Big difference between the finish of brushed and polished the brushed doesnt even look metal.. it could of been painted plastic you couldnt tell... i was going for brushed not now... you need to see them in the flesh to decide. Not keen on the aluminium sill guard mmmm prefer the standard plastic with rx8 on it..

take it from someone from the US who doesn't even get the brushed option... the polished strakes look great with the non-polished wheels.

Now I am undecided again....
One thing is for sure though - I will be looking to NOT pay UK prices.

Morgan,

I was with the brushed all the way, but I bet when you see it you will change your mind too. This only refers to the front rotary accent, as I didnt see any brushed strakes etc.

Werent the accessories on display at your event, or were you too busy posing on the bonnet to notice :D
