Bose

Think the BOSE is very good, far better than on the TTC.

However, have slight vibration on the drivers door speaker if specificaly heavy base played at loud volume (but with base control on neutral).

Any one else had this?

Glad to hear your first point. Having said that, I was not impressed with Bose in the TT - I didnt have it in my TTC, but I had a TTR with it for a week, and wasnt impressed. The Bose in my A3 was eellent however - and I'll be happy if it is as good as that...

Rael, I too am getting the drivers door to buzz during moderate bass. I'm not sure if I want to take it back just yet for investigation. Beside, went to the Linkin Park concert last night (but took my wife's car, no CD) so the 8's going to get a pounding today. The whole cars goinog to BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ:D .

I'm going to wait a bit to try and identify why and when this happens but okay this morning.

It seems to happen when there is something in the door pocket.

Mines just got worse. I cannot play above a volume of 8 before it starts to buzz.

I hate this, I drove up north for like four hours on Friday night and it started doing it, so I notched the base down, I reckon that you should be able to play a Bose system at LOUD volume without any distortion. I really do not rate this system at the moment. Maybe it's bedding in!

Contigo, its not the speakers that are'nt up to scratch but the door casings they are attached to. When I get the annoying BUZZ, if I push the drivers door casing in, it stops.

not a big fan of the Bose yet - very flat whatever I set it to compared to the DPL system in the Volvo.

Andy, the DPL system in your previous Volvo and those of Lexus, are the best on the market from a manufacturer. Simple. The Bose in the 8 only slightly better than my Alpine in my old Focus (using Std Focus speakers!). I am investigating the addition of a sub, but will wait until after Xmas.

Also, car booked in next week to have BUZZ investigated.

Well I supose Volvos need the better sound system, after all they aren't going to get much entertainment from the Vauxhall engines

Cheers

Gotta say I like my BOSE system. Stikes me as odd that both Audi and Mazda would choose this as their premier audio system if it is really that bad. I know some of their home speakers are not up to much but then others rave about them.

I had it in the TTC and it was fine but the 8's is a lot better with more bass and fade option. I think the BOSE reproduction is a bit unusual and take some getting used to. Stick with it though, it is actually very good (if not the best).

I think there are differences with any setup. My Alpine had more bass, the Bose has a little more treble, but alot more detail. Its dredging up stuff I did'nt know was on the disc. Overall I'm happy with the sound (it does go very loud as well). It is after all just bedding in.

My Volvo BOSE is exceptional. I have driven a 325Ci and TT recently and thought their audio systems were dreadful. I had hoped the BOSE on the RX8 was going to be as good as the Volvo...
