Any Good News?

I have been posting here for nearly a year now and It's really quite depressing reading through the threads over the last week.

At this stage I'm more than happy to wait for my car as I know how close it really is. I've waited for more than a year to own this car I'll not be cancelling.

Yes, there are some valid points and on a forum people speak their minds and voice their opinions but the negativity here at the moment is really getting me down.
It's not a fun place to be right now.

Rather than all the moaning, rumour and speculation, why don't we just wait for the facts to emerge?

If there is anyone out there who feels the same as me stand up and be counted and let's make this a thread that does justice to the fabulous car that we are about to own.

"Oilman gets off his soapbox"

Cheers

Want some Good news? I’ll see what I can do. It’s a bit self – centred though.

Just been given a provisional date to dealer (by Coventry Mazda) – October 22nd!!
I tentatively withdraw all negative comments ever made about Mazda. However watch this space.

Yes, I'm having fish and chips tonight.:D

On a more serious note, now that my rant has passed, today I put the money into my bank account to pay for the beast.

Oilman, I took the kids to Euor Disney this year virtually free with Air Miles. I'm trying to establish if I can pay for the car with my credit card, obviously putting my credit card account into credit first. One airmile for every £20 spent. I'll see if I can pull this caper off:D .

Good news if I can.

With the first deliveries well and truely on the horizon I thought the mood on the forum would be really upbeat.. ah well!

This topic link was posted a short time ago but is worth posting again.

Have a read all and cheer yourself up! :D

Oilman,

If I can just borrow your soapbox for a minute......

I know its been a long road to get here, and we have all had our ups and downs, but now our cars are but a few weeks away.

The forum is for people to speak their minds, but I agree that a lot of the negativity is pointless and I have taken the position that Im not going to post or be a part of these threads any more.

There does appear to be one or two guys with genuine grievances, and I hope they get them sorted out.

Mazda have told me November, and now ive been told around the 12th. Im happy with that.

I will also be very happy if I sell my Impreza in the next few weeks.

Other good news is that I am getting Sky+ this weekend so I am happy about that.

On Sunday if Villa beat the Blues I will be happy as a pig in the brown stuff

Look in to the British Airways sponsored Amex card, one of the options gives 1 airmile for every pound if I remember correctly. However your dealer will first cry then hate you for all time, as that means 5% of their margin gone. You'd have to offer to buy a grand of accessories to make up for it.

Cheers

opps sorry pressed enter and it posted! anyway I do feel sorry for the guys who have been messed around, its awfull having hopes dashed , us blokes on this forum appreciate quality and want our goodies yesterday but the pleasure is in the anticipation and I for one look forward to positve threads when deliveries (and the driving) start.
Just think of me, polishing my scale model while the cold winter passes and the spring approaches, enviously glued to this site.

I agree totally with Oilman.

To be honest, I have avoided the site for a while (well mostly) because there is just too much moaning going on. This does not make for a fun forum.

I know people have some genuine gripes, but it is like 5 year olds egging each other on as to who can bitch the most.

Anway, I'm feeling very positive now.:D

(MY bitchin' over )

Got my insurance from Direct-Line today at £556. Not too bad. Had to transfer the 2 years no claims from my existing car which cost me £78 on that policy but what the heck. My dealer has my reg-plate form ready to go and apart from my Trackstar unit all the optional parts are in (allegedly) so the ball is rolling... :D

Cheers dude. The guy seen the car on Autotrader on the internet. It's not scheduled to be advertised in the magazine until next Thursday.

Fingers crossed the chap will be back tomorrow to furnish me with the dosh though - I've not heard from him today after agree all the terms last night

Good luck with selling yours mate.

Lensman, try Sainsburys insurance. You can get a quote online, and they are £200 quid cheaper than ANYONE else I have found, for me at least.

Just noticed you have already changed... worth a look though

Handed over my number plate and entitlement papers to the dealer today, another milestone passed.

Just imagine in less than two weeks I will be having a test drive! :D Then mine will arrive about three weeks after that.

It also means another pay day in between and more time to sell the current motor.

Out of curiousity I tried a quote: they won't insure me because of the length of time I've had my licence and because I only have two years no claims bonus. I played with the options and you need 5 years no claims or more before they'll touch it. Direct-Line weren't so picky.
