Great write up, I really like this bit!

Fun to Drive

Oh yes indeed. Central to the RX-8's character are its engaging on-road dynamics. It simply begs to be driven hard. The engine is pivotal here - it revs with the kind of zingy enthusiasm usually reserved for electric motors. Blip the throttle at standstill and the twin rotors will spin the crankshaft to 5000rpm with ease. On the go it provides a clean and stepless thrust of acceleration that builds at 3000rpm and peaks at a dizzy 9000rpm when a loud buzzer warns the driver to charge up. So smooth and willing is the rotary unit that often the buzzer's warning comes as a surprise.

Cheers

"And while the short rear overhang means the boot is on the small size, there's no space-stealing spare wheel - it's replaced by a puncture repair kit - which means the boot can swallow a set of golf clubs, two hard cases or a handful of soft bags. "

Puncture repair kit?
What's that?

Yeah, that puncture repair kit is something I haven't seen talked about much, but i do remember it from this review... it looks like the * doesn't come witha true spare tire, just a kit to fix a flat if you happen to get one... I don't know if i really like this, but then again, its not like I ever remember to check if my spare has air in it anyways...

If its any think like my bike its going to be a real pain to get the tyre off the rim to get the inner tube out and into water to establish where the hole is to fix with glue and plaster. Then once dry to put everything together again!! Hopefully the RAC/ AA can help.

there is no tube. i would not recomend taking the tyre of the rim without a machine to put it back on.
