Haven't added this message to the accessory thread because I haven't ordered yet, I'm still trying to decide

Was thinking about getting the front, side and rear skirts but then decided that the side and rear skirts make the rear look a bit 'fat' when fitted. So decided just to go for the front spoiler, but am now thinking it may look a little odd without the rest of the kit.

What do you lot think?

Then I look at the price of the front spoiler and think "£450 for that!" I'm not going to bother.....

Bit of a dilemma really.

Spooky, but I too am having the same dilemma. Having looked at some pics, I agree that the sides do fatten up the car. I think just the front air dam would be OK, as it doesnt actually lower the front by too much, it just gives the front a bit more panache.

As for the prices, I agree that Mazda are definately having a laugh. Shame really because I would have probably gone for front, rear and sides if it came in at around a grand, but at one and a half....well I can get a nice holiday for that.

Anyone else have a view on Front Air Dam only?

I was going to get the front dam but now think that it spoils the look.

Therfore going for polished strakes, B-pillar trim, side air dams and rear, may also add front mud flaps as I have seen pictures on the forum of a car with all these and it looks pretty neat (even though the brochure states you can't)

Still haven't decided on the parking sensors as I really want them but don't want to spoil the look as they are located in the worse possible location.

Also surprised as to why there is no rear rotary crest in the brochure as the guys in the USA have these???

The Fog Light that is rquired here means that the rear rotary crest will not fit.

Fishadr, thats because we get a rear fog light instead. I will be most impressed if you manage to fit the rear creast around the light.

BTW, been informed that the accessories website, within the mazdarx8 website will be online this friday. Apparently you order and your dealer can see your order (I think ?).

I dont think the obviously stuck on bits of plastic do anything for the car. The side skirts look very much like an after thought, the rear deflectors are more subtle but on the other hand dont seem to make much of an impact.

I like the bottom part of the front spoiler which bulds up the lower lip which is usually black and not very visible. However I dont like the obvious line where it joins the bumper, this distracts from the great wedge shapes just below the openings incorporating the fog lights, which I think is one of the strongest points of the front end. If this join was more subtle I might consider it.

Absolutely ridiculous, especially when you see the prices on
japanparts.com.

I think it may work something like this;

1) You log into the pre-order website and pick your accessories of choice.

2) Your choices are noted by the system on the website

3) Some poorly paid temp at Mazda UK goes into the website system each day and writes a note of which new users have ordered accessories.

4) Same temp goes into the database and gets your pre-order username and password.

5) Temp sends a letter in the post to you dealer with your details

6) Your dealer gets the letter a couple of days later

7) Dealer goes home (to where he has internet access!) and logs into the pre-order website as you.

8) Dealer writes down all the accessories you have ordered.

9) Sometime later that week the dealer looks up what colour car you have ordered so that they can match up the accessories

10) Dealer fills in a fax to order parts from Belgium.

11) 5 days after your car has arrived the parts get delivered to your dealer!

Umm.. what we really need is a high detail 3D model of an RX8 that you can rotate and zoom in and out of.

Then in the menus on the side of the screen you can choose your body parts and using the mouse drag them towards the car were they clip into the correct positions.

So then we can try all the combinations of parts (and car colours)until we are happy with the look.

Press the 'My shopping basket' button, stick your credit card number in, and your order whizzes down to the Mazda order database - where it gets lost.

Anyway back to work *wakes out of his little dream*

Have you seen the X-men part of the Mazda USA site? They've done that for 3 year olds to play with, but dont offer the same facilities for the real car - DUH! as they say over there.

I believe that price is for a knock-off version of MS kit. Other than that I don't know. Any ideas if its painted, or if its any good anyone.
