I have just picked the latest issue of 4wheel (a Greek very respectable magazine) testing the RX-8 in Italy. Everything about the car in this review was great except the following performance numbers:

0-100Km/h in 7,1 sec
0-400m in 15,2 sec

I am really disappointed at this point and really anxious to see any new performance data. (Even a civic type-r is faster than this)
Any comments?

 

Yeah, they post the conditions the test was performed under?

RPM of the launch, gear change RPM, if DSC/traction controll was off etc.

 

No there was no detail about it as this was only a pre-test but still....

 

There was also a test in the last DRIVE, but they didnt do any 0-100 times, or 0-400, or anything. They just posted the factory data....
However the guy who was doing the review said that the car was awesome, anyway

 

They mentioned that they didn't use the vbox so let's all wait till September for a review and numbers when they test it in Megara.

 

This looks more like the time stated for the low power version

 

All the years that I have been reading 4TROXOI, I have NEVER known them to post a time lower than that of the manufacturer. So, since a STD-POW has a 0-100kph of 7,2", I think they must have tested the HIGH-POW. In which case, the time sounds just about right, and is ofcourse a huge disappointment......

Anyway, we'll just have to wait and see......
