You are thinking of the Top Gear Magazine comparison, this is a different one from 4 Car.
The RX-8 comes out on top, with the 350Z second and the crossfire an unsurprising 3rd.

Sorry, you are correct but in this review the 350 also seems to shave it if you can afford the extra GT money.
BUT this comparison says what I have been waiting to read since I put in my order in being;
'if you were also thinking of an Audi TT, forget it, unless you can't resist its looks, because each of these cars is better'.
Nice one.

In ALL of the reviews comparing the 350 and rx8, where the 350 wins, it is only just and much of that is due to the engine grunt.
If both cars cost the same, something (major) would have to give on the Z or something (major) could be added to the rx8.
So think of a fully loaded up rx8 hi power(24,900 or so) up against a fully loaded up 350Z (at least 26,500, nearer 27,000) and we can all add nearly 2 grand of stuff if we get the rx8.
Either way, the point for me is that the 350z CANT win because it doesn't have 4 seats (or much of a boot), no matter how well it drives.
I actually like both cars a lot, but it will always be the RX8 for me.

The more apt competitor is the G35 Coupe, and that didn't cut it for me... so the RX-8 is tops
