I don't want to put a damper on this event, but....
If you go to this, please don't do anything stupid while you're there. As of late, the sheriff's office on both sides of the line has been out there in full ******* force writing tickets for the absolute dumbest **** you can imagine. It's getting ridiculous, and i'm a pretty tolerant and understanding guy most of the time. Personally, I choose not to go there anymore. This decision came after I saw a cop about a month ago standing... literally... in the middle of the road with a radar gun, shooting radar around a blind curve. One more ticket and my insurance is dropped, and if anyone else is in that situation I encourage you to think twice about this event and how you will act when you get there.
This is a warning, from someone who *used to be* a regular visitor to the dragon.
You can usually get a pretty good idea of how the sheriff's office has been handling things up there as of late by looking at the blog on killboy.com. You can also get a very good idea of how you will be ridiculed on the internet if any of the photographers catch you lane crossing or doing anything else stupid while you're there.

Every year, we hear similar things about US129.
Just so everyone knows, safety is our number one concern. We invite local LEO's to come to our event to give safety lectures and dangers of US129.
DGRR started in 2004 and every year we had invited Blount county LEO's, TVA, Robinsville LEOs, etc.
Far as what we hear from LEO's, DGRR is the only event at US129 that invites LEO's to give safety lectures and dangers of US129.
