Selling a used AudioLink iPod kit for the 2004-2008 Mazda RX-8. The head unit firmware revision must be 9.55 or higher - it will not work with earlier versions nor with 9.81 or 10.01. To find out which revision your Mazda RX-8 has, make sure the radio (FM) is turned on, then press and hold "TEXT." Then, also press and hold "1" at the same time for a few more seconds. The LCD should then report your firmware version.

I'm selling this as I updated my stereo to add bluetooth for my phone. The device has no issues at all and also has a 1/8" line output for other MP3 devices, satellite radio, etc. This unit does allow full control of the iPod while plugged in as well as retaining all of your head unit and steering wheel controls. It plugs into the back where the external CD changer port is located. If your head unit has the 6-CD internal changer (as do almost all Canadian models of RX-8), this unit works fine and does not affect the internal changer at all.
