when i went to petro-canada today, i was totally shocked. 1.501/liter premium gas???? wtf was going on????? The oil price went down while the gas price at the pump went up??? Not to mention, the regular gas was even 1.36. I remembered when i seen the gas price on the way home on Thursday, it was only about 1.27, what really happened within TWO f**king days????

 

There have already been like 5 threads about gas prices this weekend.

I'm not sure how they can explain it with anything other than, "well, we just felt like if their price goes up so should ours"...but even Canadian pumps are blaming oil refineries being shut down that are in the gulf coast because of Hurricane Ike.

 

Last I heard OPEC had "agreed" to cut back on production as there was an oversupply.

btw, not sure on exchange rates but welcome our world. I paid $1.67/litre aussie today.

 

HMMMM lets get this straight, crude oil is at an all time low.......The price of gas sky rocketed because of hurricane IKE, EVEN THOUGH IKE HAD NOT DAMAGED TEXAS YET!!!!!!!! At least when Katrina hit they did not raise gas prices until we saw the damage done..............Big oil companies are like the mafia, extortion is their main tactic.......i would love to stick it to these *****

 

Whoa dude, oil is not at an all time low! It is at its lowest in the last 6-7 months! But yes the retail price is well above what it should be IF there were competition to the oil companies.

 

Heh Dont think bad. Gas prices are 1.46/l for Regular over here (Northern Ontario).
I dont even want to check the prices for Premium till I get my car lol...

I dont know if its a good news for me or not. cuz i bought my flight tickets to beijing for 1700 dollars which was the cheapest price but still way more expensive than previous years cuz of the gas price. Now the gas went down like super quick, i guess the price of flight tickets would be going down too. I might regret that i bought it too early and wasted few hundred bux.

So i get off work, my tank is empty i drive over to ESSO at leslie and elgin mills. I pull in and there is these signs taped to the pumps i am like "Oh **** these pumps are prob out of fuel" i read the sign it says "Out of Regular fuel, premium at regular prices" F'ing SWEEETTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Filled up my whole tank cost 50 bucks, went to the convenience store right after and bought a Super 7 ticket
