Winter Tires
Also you don't want chrome in the winter, I have chrome wheels on my old Lincoln Mark VIII and over the course of the cars life the road salt has gotten in behind and has started to eat away at the wheels causing the chrome to flake off.
This is all contrary to my old high school chemistry book that said chrome will never flake or break down.

That is the exact same pattern as the Nokian RSi. I hope they grip as well as the Nokians though. Leesha, let us know how well these do in the snow!

Will do!
How much are those? Maybe they are from the same Manufacture?? Someone else on here has them too and I asked the same question but no response yet.

don't know the exact price of the Nokian but they are for sure more expensive than the Hankook. I don't think they are from the same manufacturer, but Hankook have been using tread patterns from other tire makers. Maybe they bought the rights to use the pattern... I do not know. For instant, their Ventus Sport K104 tread looks like Michelins Pilot Sport. My gf's Subaru has the Nokians on, they have been amazing through 3 winters with a lot of thread left.

studded adds metal studs to the tread, increasing traction in severe (almost permanent snow/ice surfaces).
You don't want studded tires in Ontario, cause our winters aren't brutal enough to have snow 24/7.. so if you drive that on asphalt, it's gonna be a really rough and noisy ride.

i got some dunlop graspic ds-2's and steel rims that i picked up for $500 with only 2-3 months use on them (they actually look brand spanking new)

They would have cost around 1200-1400 new.
