I'm actually breaking mine out of storage tonight... it's been asleep (but checked on periodically) since November.

Oh, new member here... hi! North Bay, ON is where I hang my hat

No worries dude,

I do have a house in Richmond Hill (bayview hills @ leslie and 16th) so technically I could be driving it in the GTA if I wanted to.

Guys....this snow storm really sucks! Fortunately, I struck a deal with the folks to keep my 8 in the garage this weekend as they want to drive their car places today, where as I ain't going anywhere this weekend, except to church tomorrow! Also, we're selling our third car (a '92 Honda Accord), so people will be needing to test drive that car (hence space needed on the driveway)....God-willing this is the last snowstorm for the year! We're supposed to get 25-30cm in the GTA! Any drifters out there today? lol

I've been really itching to drive, and I've thought about taking my 8 out even just to the school parking lot down the street from me.

Well, the current snowstorm is supposed to come in two blasts. The first blast was from last night until now, and the second blast is supposed to be from this evening till later tonight or tomorrow morning. The second blast is supposed to be the heaviest....in anycase, I was walking outside to start the first phase of shoveling and then I walked back (knowing that we're gonna be hit with a lot more snow later today)....here's a short video of what I saw outside. Thank God my 8 is in the garage this weekend....I still have to clean the driveway and my parent's car, but a small price to pay for having my 8 in the garage! hehe

Congrats to all the drifters out there braving it in this weather. Drive safely out there today! God-willingly, all the roads should be cleaned by tomorrow afternoon.

How do you guys drive your 8 in the snow? I cannot move mine on an inch of snow in the driveway. I prefer to drive the 4x4 Ram pick-up.

Very carefully....It's my daily driver so I have to, however, I might store it next winter and buy a beater.

It's called winter tires. And knowing how to drive through snow without needing to be 12" off the ground.

Drive safe folks.

Well, to be quite honest, even with winter tires and traction control, our 8 is not the "safest" car to drive in the winter. I love my 8, but God-willing I can buy a beater for next winter and I would rather store the 8 for those few months.

Hehehe... I have an RX-8 with Blizzaks. But no matter how good your winter tires are, and how much you know about driving in snow, it doesn't even compare to a 4x4 truck.

I feel like a freakin' snow god when I'm in my father's Ford Explorer.

An RX-8 is a very fun car on snowless roads, but a 4x4 truck is helluvah fun too on heavy snow.

Heya!

Nope, I bought it in October of last year... I've planned for the Pettit Racing intake, Greddy SP2 exhaust and the Cobb AccessPORT. I roll with a couple of STis and a few other decent imports here in town, plus I co-run the local tuner group.

With any luck, I'll throw on some 18" or 19" OZ Ultraleggeras this year as well.

I drove my 8 out of the drive way onto a flat bed for towing this morning. Does that count?
