Can you post some pics for me?

Going to be placing my order on an '05 GT tomorrow. I really want White but I am not convinced on White by the photo's in the Multimedia forum.

Is the US body slightly different from the Canadian, something just looks different to me from all the photos I have seen to the cars I have seen in person here. I can't put my finger on it and there probably is no difference...

 

There's no difference, other than the Canadian cars have headlight washers, which appear as small squares below the headlights.

 

The only external difference - all the Canadian RX-8s have headlight washers (little pop-up panels on front bumper below each headlight), and the headlight washers are not available at all on US RX-8s!

There was a white one at the RX Club of Ontario meet on Sunday and it looked great. Maybe you can locate the owner and take a first hand look.

 

White...such a tragic color for an RX8

 

saw a white one up close in a calgary couple weeks ago, it looks alright, it'll probably look better modded

 

I saw one up at Sunridge mazda a while back....you take a unique sports car that stands out in the crowd and slap white paint on it and it disappears. I've never been a fan of white on any car with bold lines. White tends to under play the curves of the car.

Since you are in the GTA, get out to some of the dealers. Many of them have white sitting on the showroom floor or somewhere on the lot.

You have to see the white in person to actually tell what it looks like.
Personally I think it doesn't look good at all, but that's just my opinion. (looks worse in person)

 

I have been to a couple dealers... no White's on the lot...

Anyone know a dealer anywhere in the GTA that has a White sitting on the lot?

 

Sabennett (sorry if i spelled it wrong) has a white, and he's located in Orangeville I believe.

 

Ajax Mazda sold one last week. They do not have anymore white ones in stock, but have 18 other RX-8's in stock (largest selection in Canada) and can try to locate one in white and trade with other dealers. Let me know if you are interested; I can introduce you to the sales manager and he said they are willing to give a really good price (cost + ). Send me a private message (click on Shogun) and I can tell you the actual price and can hook up to introduce you to the sales manager if your interested.

 

Meh nothing special about the white to me. I don't mind it but to me it's very plain jane. I would have rather kept the yellow around but what can you do?

Anyhoo, I took some pics of the white on the dealer's lot in Calgary back in Nov. The two pics of the paint are fairly accurate of what you'd see on a sunny day. Hope it helps!

The white mazda offers is called a Snowflake Pearl White so that is the metallic you see in the paint. It also has a very small play of colours when viewed on a sunny day.
Overall I would agree with the group that white is a more subdued colour than the Red, Blue or Yellow.
If the truth be known it wasn't my first choice but I was going to have to wait too long to get a the colour and Iwanted and I just couldn't be without my 8! However that being said I have since owning it become quite attached to the colour (mmm maybe I baised). I saw a blue one at the D&B meet last Sunday and I couldn't believe how much I liked it, I almost wish I had of ordered on of those. Really sharp colour. While I've got the thread hi-jacked I would like to mention one more thing, white is drop dead simple to take care, I have a black Grand National and it's 100 times more work keeping that colour looking clean and waxed etc. Anyways back to the thread topic.

I saw a white one when I was on a trip to Hawaii in Feb. I thought that it was nice. I'd actually rather have the white one than the yeller one. The yellow one wasn't really my first pick, it was just the last one available at the dealer when I went to buy the 8.

My friend picked up a white rx8 ...

Never been a huge fan of the colour , but to each there own ... i know tones of people don't like the yellow . It's what makes you feel good ......

Personally I love the pearl white color. Pretty sad, but it is the reason I finally decided to get the '8' (once the white was released).

It REALLY needs the clear front corner lenses tho!
