What Does the N Mean?
What Does the N Mean?
So, I'm out in Vancouver for the holidays. Last night I'm northbound on the 99, coming into the Surrey/Whiterock area. Next to me is a WB with nice rims (I could see them very well, since he was driving, but they looked cool).
I was puzzled, though, by the sticker on the back of his trunk. It was an orange square, a few inches across, with a capital N in dark colors. At first I thought it was one of those national sticker you sometimes see on bumpers, but those are elliptical.
Has anyone seen this sticker? What does it mean?

It's part of BC's Licensing Program, N stands for NEWb, haha...and they must have it displayed there after passing the roadtest (I think for 2 years, I forget as I switched to Alberta license last yr). After they meet the 2 years they can get rid of it by taking a 2nd road test to get Class 5 license. "N" drivers have a passenger restriction limit, and also less points to start with, some other restrictions I forget though.
Also before the "N" they have a "L" sign for learners that they receive after passing the written test.
It seems Alberta is also moving toward that system though, except without the newb signs.
