I stumbled upon this after leaving the movie theatre tonight...

Turns out there is a huge, and I mean MASSIVELY HUGE car enthusiast meeting every wednesday at the Kennedy Commons plaza. Not the Tim Hortons meet. I'm talking about the big parking out outside Chapters/TDBank. It's so big that it overflows to the Rona parking lot across.

No particular type of car meet, but all range from tricked out riced civics, to luxury modded coupes, to muscle cars, and even motorcycles.

Did anyone know about this yet? We should change our Friday meets to go here instead and show up as an RX-8 convoy...

Not overexaggerating, there must be over 300 people here tonight and more than 200 cars.

People were also revving engines and rippping it in and out of the parking lot like crazy... and yet no cops! hahaha

The G4S security patrol rolls by, but doesn't do anything about it... (what could he possibly do? tell 300 people to leave?)

Anyways, it's pretty good.. who wants to come with me next Wednesday at least to see it once for yourselves.

Why do we wanna be involved in something in this nature that will only end up gettung busted eventually?

I do understand what you mean about the "scene", however its so 2001 Fast and Furious...those are for highschool kids now...

Yea...Rev and I knew about that spot...we stumble across when we were looking for a place to chill.... I saw the dude that bought my mazda3 there....lolz

I'm up for going next Wed night...now that my ms nose is installed...lolz

isn't that the luxury car meet thing that someone posted on the forum a while ago? I've never actually seen it but I've heard that it's mainly a rice-fest with occasional exotics.

On a side note, there's also a vintage car meet at the church by bayview and steeles every friday. See all sorts of classic american muscles, and other super old cars kept in great condition! As I drove by steeles once, i saw at least 10 vintage cars pass by me heading to the meet, and each car was blindingly shiny and sparkling! Quite a site.

I've brought this up a number of times actually... so has Thumper... I have no idea what Kafka's talking about getting busted or something. I've been there for acouple of these things while meeting up with friends or getting a coffee from SB.

I haven't seen anyone rippin' out of the parking lot before... but yeah... I've heard engine revving. Hell.. I did it once there when someone as talking to me about buying an 8... they wanted to hear what the MS exhaust sounded like.

You may have no idea, but I do since I was one of those guys who rev the engine in the mall back in teh days lol. I have been busted in 2002/3 in my VW doing exactly what those people did in the mall.

The cop dont give a fck about you "showing' someone your exhaust so they can buy it if they want to go to town...but yeah maybe time is different now since they can bust you even when you are driving alone for "streeeeet racing"

Also, I think the Mazda3 guys have a Friday / Sunday meet in Leslie / Steeles right? maybe we can go there instead?

I've heard you guys mention that before, but I always thought it was at Tim Hortons parking lot so I didn't care much. I didn't realize the magnitude of the size of this meet.

TDaz's white RX8 (the one at Mazdaspeed north) was there too. It was the ONLY RX-8 there in the entire parking lot! I was parked at the AMC theatre side so I didn't join the fray.

and yes... everyone was RIPPING IT in and out of the lot... it was ridiculous as in... I'd expect cops to be waiting outside.. but there was none. You know how there are two main 401 ramps there from the mall... the eastbound ramp with one sharp right turn and then a straight. Then there's the 401 westbound ramp with a 270 degree turn...

Some groups of friends were leaving the place and ripping it on those ramps. You can hear them leave very loudly.. kinda like all those MS CAI/MS EXHAUST test runs at R.P.M. last year....

Then there were groups of people coming in to the place from the west on 401, so the exit ramp into Kennedy Commons is this long sweeping S turn followed by a short right turn pass the lights... a Lotus Exige and a modded RSX was guning it down there over 100 kph into the plaza...

bikes were revving like crazy to their fuel-cut limiters...
a red MR2 and this Dodge SRT4 which obviously was running straight pipes was insanely loud. the SRT4 revved till fuel-cut, and the back pressure was so loud, it sounded like gunshots were going off...

yet all this mayhem and 0 cops waiting outside! hahahah

That's a heat score and a half.
Kennedy Commons meets are infamous. I remember those days.. I think I've been to 1. Never again. Way too many kids doing stupid things.

Just don't do stupid things and u won't get busted....right

I use to go to them with my old car crew, since that's all we pretty much did, not like this crew where we do so much more stuff. I will check it out (been meaning to), not sure about next week tho, the week after I'm in, if I don't get to lazy hehe.

I used to be at those meets twice a week a few years ago. I won't be in town next Wednesday, but could check it out the week after.

I would be up for a wing night.

The 3 guys are a different breed. They're border line "rice" wannabes and true enthusisats. Just don't get in the way of their picnics and BBQ's. Everything will be alright.

The 3ers are still mazdas...no matter how different they are.

most of the guys are younger than us and thus most of them have less financial resources naturally...been there done that.

I still wish they can get more involved in our world (track days, charity show, dyno days, etc etc) but oh well...we did try. =)

I been there once with my FD, and with my friend's Toyota MR2, didn't like the atmosphere, too many riced civic and crappy American **** Box there....... and like Josh said, it's for High School kids, afterall.........

Some of you guys are to cynical and judgmental. People like what they like, we shouldn't be here judging them for it.
