The Calgary Miata Club has three evenings booked at Race City this year - we'd be more than happy for RX-8 owners to join us, I think. Check out the club web site at www.rockies-miata.org for more details. (I track my Miata, but so far have no intentions or running the 8)

Regards,
Gordon

HEY! Where the heck are the rest of you RX-8 owning Albertans!!!

I got a note from Rick - he's not just looking for a chance to run on the track, he's looking to organize a session for us, with instruction available. Depending on price, these are fantastic opportunities to get to learn the handling of your car in a safe environment, to learn and improve your driving skills, and to have a hell of a lot of fun. BUT, we'd need to show some interest - depending on the session offered, it could well be worth the drive from Edmonton as well!

Speak up, let's hear from the rest of you! I'm now very interested!

Regards,
Gordon

Thanks Gordon,
To elaborate a bit, if there is interest I could organize a school format, bringing licensed race and high performance instructors, for ~20 to 30 people. The best format would see us run an evening of classroom with some exercises, followed by a day on the 2mile road course at RaceCity. For any of you who may be interested I'd be happy to answer any questions on how this could work, what it would cost, my qualifications, etc......just pm me.

I'm interested. I've got a lot of track experience on a motorcycle but I've never driven a car on the track, if someone sets this up for a reasonable price I'd drive down for it.

I just wished.
While I lived in Winnipeg, got to do a lot of Autox and lapping days up in Gimli.
The nearest track is Schubenacadie-almoat 4 hours from where I am.
I really envy you guys

Well at this point there are only 4 people who have shown interest. That's not enough to make it viable........
