Toronto Star Auctions

Bought a new 2007 RX8 in the Toronto Star auctions in October 2008.

There were a total of four RX8's up for auction.

Was anyone here the purchaser of the other three.

Mine is in storage till spring with very little km on it.

Are you driving yours -- if so any issues and what dealer do you take it to who knows the rotary

Thanks

I bought mine in Oct 08 too. From the dealership, who bought it thru an auction. My car is from MTL though.. I know that they were looking at auctions for me, and there was a couple we bid on but lost lol.

Mine is yellow with 83k on it.

Hey Roger.. welcome to the rotary family.

I'd recommend you take the car to Scarborough Mazda.. a lot of the guys around here swear by them (myself included). They really know their stuff and everyone there is really great to work with (plus there's a 10% discount on most items for rx-8 club members).

In any case, have them take a full look over the car... do the next recommended servicing while you're there because you never know if the last owner actually did it or not. In addition get the dealership to transfer the ownership information of the vechile in Mazda's systems into your name. This way you'll get notified if there's any recalls or anything of that nature.

Other then that.. while you're waiting for spring to roll around (like we all are).. read up on some of the maintenance you have to do (don't turn the car off until it's at full operating temp, check the oil levels every other fill up etc), so you wont have any nasty surprises.
