:D Picked her up June 19th, Velocity Red all dressed up.

Gas mileage sucks, but then it isn't your granny's car.

Hi folks, Just picked up my Titanium GT yesterday.....Had crowds around it today at work, parked beside my buddy's z350, he told me he felt humbled!!! I live in Brampton(around shopper's world). Will be driving daily between here and the airport, looking forward to seeing some other 8's around town!

bj99mm 09-01-2004 02:12 AM

Congrats and Greetings from a felow Bramptonian or is that Bramptonite?
With a few more cars we'll soon have our select membeship sub-group "RX8ers of Peel Region"

Need a better name ... How about "Peeler 8s" ???
Naw then we might be confused with a strip club !!!

Love your choice of color. Cheers. BJ

I'm in Thornhill/Richond Hill area. Just picked up my baby Monday night. It's Velocity Red GT.

Can't wait till it breaks in.... hard to keep this car under 3500 rpm since the engine rev so smoothly...

Welcome to the club!

05ers going to be on the road that soon, great to hear. I think white will look real sharp. Remember to get the M-flash done before picking up the car.

See you at the meets!

I've been known to hang out at a bar called Ferg's (4 blocks south of Finch on Yonge St.) and I have noticed that there are several new RX-8’s in the neighbourhood. If you see a blue RX-8, which is usually parked at the corner please drop in and introduce your self. :)

Hello Everyone, Monday night I signed the paperwork for a Silver GT which I should be picking up next week. They are swapping the 6-CD for an MP3 player and adding tint for me, the delay is because of the MP3 player (not in stock). If anyone see's a Silver GT coming in and out of Bolton, it's me, until next week you may see a Protege 5 in the winning blue type colour with dark tints.

Congrats! Wow MP3, thought about it, then saw the $$$$ and then the brain up and left hehe. They're tinting you car as well. Make sure they give you a high UV protective film. As for the "how dark" that's of course up to you.

2 more days...this is killing me!

yorkie 09-06-2004 10:08 PM

Taking over a lease on a 2004 Titanium Gray base model tomorrow :) 4000km, 3 months old. Finally gave up on the Miata as my winter car, although it held out well for the past two years. Will be keeping the Miata as the summer car.

This has been a reasonably impulsive decision - took me about 24hrs to decide once I had taken one for a test drive and another 24hrs to find a good deal. As this is a lease take over, anything I should have done, looked at, checked when I am at the dealership tomorrow?

bj99mm 09-07-2004 02:13 AM

Congrats Yorkie on your acquisition.
Nice stable of cars. The ZOOM ZOOM thrill never wears off!
Be sure to bring both cars to MOM 2004 next Sun Sep 12.

I'd suggest a fresh oil change if it hasn't already been done by dealer.
Lots of discussion here on the forum about getting the latest "M" flash upgrade to the computer so you could inquire to check the knowlege level of dealers service dept. Check the build date on the door and if its in 2004 then latest "M" flash is probably not an issue.

Dam, I missed MOM2. Did anybody go? Was it a good time? BTW, up on highway 7 just west of Weston Road, there is a kind of car show every monday night. Went earlier this week and it was really impressive. It takes place in the parking lot of this restaurant called Galaxy's or something like that. Very very impressive collector care like 50,60,70,80,90's z28's, Corvettes, Cuda's, porsche's, etc.. One guy even came with slicks wheeely bars and a parshute? The cars are mint through and through. I plan to go there a couple of more times because it was really a very fun an exciting time. Cars with hydraulics and tons of special motorcycles were there too.

I would be cool if a few more RX-8' owners showed up. Aparently a lot of different cars show up. If it rains, there won't be anyone because these cars are real classics.

I have a Red RX-8 with red interior. Hope to see some of you guys there especially the "brampton boys" since its so close.

Pete 09-17-2004 11:03 AM

I live right there shamblerock. I'll try and make it next monday around 9pm

Shamblerock 09-18-2004 02:16 PM

Cool, we'll see you there. No rain in sight for the next 5 days. Should be a decent turn out.

Mr Jinx, you missed a sweet night last night. Fabulous turn out. All the hot rods and motorcycles ripped the tires as they left at around 9:30PM. Were talking strips of rubber like a 100 feet. One viper (extremely modified) blasted off like a rocket and he almost lost the car. 57 Chevys, vettes of all years, on an on. Z 28's. Saw a fully done up RX-8 graywith the complete appearance package and chrome rims. Of course when I left there had no choice but to rip the tires (DSC off). Nice long fishtail! It was fun. By the way, I noticed that the back end hops like it grabs then stop then grab then stops etc... Like it does have enough torque to keep them spinning or something like that. Same happen to you?

By the way, the last show this year will be this upcoming Sunday. I think they are going to go out with a bang!

MrJynx 09-22-2004 08:08 AM

i notice that as well, normally when i shift agressivley from 1st to 2nd. I always keep my dsc on tho, i've played a few times in the Go station parking lot with it off and damn it was a little to much for me (i was purposley trying to do stupid things but still :) DSC i must say is amazing, but a piss off at the same time (when it cuts the rpms)

I think the fully done up RX8 is a show car for a carshop on steeles/bramlea. I went in there a few weeks ago and noticed his car. He did a lot of stereo work and his exhaust was amazing (said it cost 2300).

Drop me a PM with the location of the show for sunday, i'll probaly come out. and i'll get my friend to bring his s2000 as well
