Tards are everywhere

So I am driving into work this morning, this dude in a jimmy comes up behind me to within an inch and keeps slowing down and then speeds up to almost kissing my back bumper. We are in one lane Iam going about 25 - 30km, so I slow it down to 15km just to **** him off so what does he do, he passes me on the shoulder almost forcing me into oncoming traffic. Anyone have any close calls today? People should slow down in this weather. Just my rant of the day!!!

Tons of idiots in SUVs driving way too close this morning. I think a lot of these drivers have really lousy depth perception, that combined with the tall seating position make them drive way too close to the car in front.

Somebody remind me again why winter tires are not mandatory in Canada?

My favourite trick for dealing with these bullies (when the road is dry) is to do a couple of quick slalom completely unannounced. Scare the f-ck out of them every single time.

^^^ That's what I keep saying about the manditory snow tires!

A little known feature of the RX8 is the rock shooting ability when the tailgater is a bit too close ... simply drive over a patch of gravel on the road (they use gravel here in Calgary ... I can't remember if they use it in TO) and give the throttle a little blip. BEHOLD! Gravel goes flying into his windshield and he'll back the hell away.

Yes, and it depends on what road u are on, some side roads have gravel. But since there was alot of snow and ice pellets on the road, do exactly what Blue said, but instead of gravel, the is ice pellets and hard snow being thrown at his windshield and blocks his entire view by just tapping on the gas a bit, you just see a huge rooster like tail behind ur car hitting the person behind you.

I had no problems what so ever going into work, just took an additional 10 minutes on a normal 25 minute drive to get in. I love this car in winter with great snow tires.

Yeah there are tons of idiots on the road. I think tailgaters **** me off the most (especially the huge SUVs/truckers). Those dudes think they have anchors on their brakes or something, the worst part is most of them don't even have snow tires.

Sometimes I feel that there should be a 2nd license or test required for SUV/trucks drivers, it's really amusing watching these guys attempt to park their cars and take turns.

The amount of people who refuse to use their signals and shoulder check come in at a close second. It especially ticks me off when im in the RX-8 since the car is so low and small. I don't think I can keep count how many times I nearly got sideswiped by people who only rely on their mirrors or do not signal for a lane change.

It always takes the idiots time to get used to the ugly road conditions. They usually figure it out when they're upside down in their vehicle. Generally people are ignorant when it comes to driving because they're also the ones that think they're the best driver in the world and everyone is sub par to their abilities. I see it everyday at my job on the road, and it's a constant in the city with the worst drivers in Canada.

I had to come into work early this morning due to training What normally takes me 28-30min's at my regular time, took me 1hr this morning!!!
The amount of stupidity is staggering!!! Some moron decided to wipe out on the 404 this morning. Which of course slows everyone down. Everyone tries to get off on the next exit and then all the little side streets are clogged!
I don't understand why people don't equip their cars with snow tires! It should be mandatory here in Canada!!

I had some SUV tailgating people. Passing when he shouldn't. Guy was on a mission. Big Ford Explorer on stock rubber. I can see that guy plowing right into the car in front of him.

LittleRX-8,
Some people don't know how to setup their side view mirrors. 9 out of 10 cars have their
mirrors pointing to the rear of their car. Which of course creates the legendary "blindspot".
Some people have no common sense.
If you think you have a hard time in your "little" RX-8, you should see how many people I have to dodge in the summer due to my car! I've had more than a few Chinese people not see the car and just swerve right into my lane.
That has subsided a bit now that I have the exhaust on the car. But when it was stock I had to have my eyes peeled at all times!

I loved it when I was a cop and I would find someone in the ditch during snow and ice storms. They would look straight at me and say, "I don't understand what happened. I have four wheel drive." At that point I felt we should be allowed to pepper spray them and beat them.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean, some people have horrible lane positioning and refuse to shoulder check. Just drive in Richmond, B.C., oh god...I have no idea how some of the Chinese got their licenses there (maybe they bought it, as this was a problem in Vancouver a few years back, Examiners were selling off a passing grade to testees). It's surprising how people can't even drive in dry sunny conditions.

I'm Chinese btw, haha...(before anyone flames).

However most of the tailgaters I get are, Caucasians in trucks/suvs...

One of my favorite winter hobbies are driving and passing SUV and other AWD vehicles when there's white stuff on the ground. It's just so satisfying. (With good winter tires of course)

You got to have stupid ppl in this world in order tell who's smart right?

Well I agree with little rx8 and yes Iam Chinese but I have been in Canada since I was 8 years old. I used to live by Highway 7 and Chalmers(richmond hill) and just trying to get out of my neighbourhood was like the movie escape from new york. A lot of close calls but the thing with the Chinese is, they do it out of ignorance or they just don't know, other people do it on purpose and really the CBCs(chinese born canadians) are pretty good drivers its the FOBs that I worry about

Haha, I don't know if I agree with the CBCs being pretty good drivers. I have quite a few friends whom I have no idea how the hell they passed the road tests (then again they took a few tries).

Also, most ricers tend to be CBCs, and we all know most ricers can't drive either.

I think the problem is with the money milking traffic system we have; it's based too much on fines. Usually idiots can just get away by paying the fines with no loss of points.

Okay, I have to put my two cents in here... why is it someone always rides your tail, or if not, they decide they're going to take you in a blaze of glory to prove some stupid point that only they are aware of?

I am so annoyed at all the people that pull up beside me, rev the hell out of their engine and attempt to leave me in their blustering snow wake....
I am not a road rager but sometimes I just have to prove my point.. saugaboy mentioned 'rooster tail' lmfao, thats so awesome... shower em with 'gratitude' for their attempt and leave them in your misty wake... heh heh..

Never mess with an 8.. or their owner!!

(sorry had to edit.. apparently I cant spell right now)
