This is so sickening

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/bu...on-848561.html

The price of oil surged to a record new high yesterday of nearly $140 a barrel. Traders shrugged off a pledge from King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia to increase production as the weak dollar spurred investors to make further moves into crude.

United States crude set a record high of $139.89 a barrel, before settling down 25 cents at $134.61. London Brent crude was up $3.05 at $138.16, before closing 40 cents down at $134.71.
I seriously might have to start TTC-ing to work a lot more because of this.

Yup, it's disgusting. I love the part of the picture that has the "We're sorry for any inconvenience"! LMAO Yeah...you must be losing sleep on top off all those $$ bills you're hosing us for. $70 for 47 litres...well -- I bought my 8 knowing full well it was going to be a thirsty little bitch. Thing is, we recently drove to Magnetewan which is about 3.5 hours north of T.O. and it took a half a tank. I asked our friends how much they used (VW golfs) and they said a half tank too. Thing is, when you're filling with Premium, it's like $0.10 or more a litre!

A barrel of oil is 42 gallons. That means the raw materials at $140 a barrel is $3.33. But we only get 5-35% gasoline out of a barrel...

The prices we're currently paying do not yet reflect $140 costs, as you need to price in transportation and refining costs, plus taxes.

i vote go to canadian tire or walmart and purchase a drill pump, hose fittings and tubing. Go out every 3 nights and all of a sudden your gas bill goes down hundreds per year.

I've started using 89 octane. I was using the Sunoco 94 but it was WAY too expensive and really not necessary. Maybe once in a while she'll get a treat

I hear ya. I commute to Burlington from TO each day! Luckily, I travel across Canada 30 weeks of the year so I'm only forking over for 26 weeks worth of daylight robbery. Apparently though, the price is set to decline pretty quickly given the recent annoucements from King Abdullah in Saudi Arabia. They say they're going to up production from 9 million barrels a day (WTF???) to 9.7. Where the hell is all this oil coming from!? Did anyone else hear about the hydrogen 8 they're rolling out in Japan soon?

Fuel in Montreal avg for the last few months 1.40cents a liter (went over 1.50cents at one point).

1.40 x 3.8 litres = 5.32$ a gallon.

We've been paying this for months.

Can I bitch now ?
