Scheduled Maintenance Compensation
For those of you out there that got your 2004 model early and were eligible for the horsepower revision compensation package, I have a question regarding your experience with your dealer.
I had my 8 in on Monday for an oil change prior to putting it away for the winter. I was expecting to get a no charge invoice but was advised instead that Mazda Canada only covers the first five appointments. The scheduled maintenance is every 8,000 km so if we're supposed to get free scheduled maintenance for the warranty period (3 years / 60,000 km), then I figured I would get at least seven services (i.e. 8K, 16K, 24K, 32K, 40K, 48K & 56K). Has anyone else come across this issue with their dealer?

I have my letter in front of me and I checked a box that says ". . . free scheduled maintenance for the balance of the factory warranty (total of 36 months/80,000 kilometres), whichever comes first. . ."
I guess the key words are "scheduled maintenance". So whatever is in the manual for factory service for the 36 months/80 K is what they have to provide I guess.

I was at Gyro 2 weeks ago to get my scheduled 7th oil change done and based on the schedule 2, it also calls for air filter and spark plugs replacement which they were going to charge me about $400. Good thing I asked them to double check with Mazda Canada about the recall program and finally I was able to get oil change, new air filter, and new spark plugs free of charge....under the warranty.
So I guess whatever the schedule 2 indicates for the 3 years/80,000kms term everything should be included.
