ROTOWheee, where did you get your clear palstic covering on the hood fenders and bumpers and how much was each section? I'm becoming a beleiver because I am getting many scratches and nicks all over the front of the car!

I had mine done at Chip Guard http://www.chipguard.com
Hood and fenders $225 plus tax . front bumper $350 plus tax . I think you can get a better deal if you do both at the same time. This place is located about a block north of Steels and Youge on Doncaster

When i picked up the car a spacificly asked this question because a didn't see it anywhwere in the Candian documentation. It would make sence to be there seeing as we dont get a spare tire.

I think, as I read in many threads here.. RX8 in Canada doesn't come with TPMS. I think they stated we get the Headlight washers instead... not 100% sure though..

so everybody getting ready for winter??

uhmmm I guess we should get another meet going in early Nov so we can talk about our preparation for winter, Tires etc.... well I will start organizing one probalbly next week or the week after.. I will set a date..

anyways, I've been busy, so haven't started on getting our club webpage going yet... I hope I will have time this week to start and also I will see if we can just branch the forum part off this web site...or create my own.. will see.

Also, I know alot of people like the name rx8club.to but I still find that the price for the domain is too expensive therefore I am going to stick with the second choice... if everyone is ok with it.

so the club name will be rx8torclub.com

I will register this today.

let me know if you guys have any questions..

thanks

If anybody is interested, I was quoted by the service manager at a Mazda dealer in Toronto that he would give me 15% discount on extended warranty by Mazda. Still have to see it to beleive it because no other dealer would even give me a dollar off.

Therefore if you are interested let me know and I can try to improve that discount for a larger group of us. Eventually, if it is indeed true, I'll give you the contact details and give him your name so he expects you and gives you the discount as well. I will likely firm all this up withion the next few days.

In short, you basically pay the price of the extended warranty WITHOUT 15% OF TAX.

For your information, the prices quoted by Mazda are as follows and do not include tax, so this is the price you should expect to pay:

New vehicle Major Component

60 MONTHS / 100,000 KM $1,349.00
72 MONTHS / 120,000 KM $1,799.00
72 MONTHS / 160,000 KM $1,999.00
84 MONTHS / 160,000 KM $2,249.00

New Vehicle Comprehensive (covers everything your original 3 year 80K warranty covers)

36 MONTHS / 80,000 KM $359.00
42 MONTHS / 100,000 KM $459.00
48 MONTHS / 100,000 KM $550.00
60 MONTHS / 100,000 KM $1,499.00
72 MONTHS / 120,000 KM $2,099.00
72 MONTHS / 160,000 KM $2,349.00
84 MONTHS / 160,000 KM $2,549.00

Here's the link for a better desription of what is covered and what is not:

Let me know if you are interested.

Great news. I'll be away till Nov 24th, going to OZ (Australia) and New Zealand starting on Friday. Yay me. I'll help out when I come back with logos and graphics, and provide contacts for car stuff. So count me in. Wish I was here for the commencement of it all, oh well, I'll be here in spirit.

Lucky guy! Are you going to audition for a part in Peter Jackson's K Kong, while you're in NZ? Have a great time, hobbes

I will have a winter tires/rims quote to post as soon as I get the fax from Rob at Whitby Mazda.

I didn't know he was seriously doing it, all the rumours you know. I'll like to play the part of, "man getting squished by big ape," or "man thrown like ragdoll into a RX-8 ". Anyways, I'll take lots of pictures and post them up when I get back.

Gosh, you made me look at IMDb. Think it's a go~

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0360717/

Anyway, wouldnt it be nice to have a RX-8 logo'd T or windbreaker or some such so you can meet the enthusiasts down under. I guess Mr. Polack provides the T's..
Cheers!

Trying to see if I can meet some RX-8 people while I'm there

We'll see what happens.

King Kong..I don't know, still feel it's a bad idea. I hope he proves me wrong.

You might be right! Take a look at the IMDb Mesage Board thread "Too bad the cast is totally wrong."

Haven't heard a thing. We'll pick it up again in the spring I guess if no one is doing anything with it until then.
