RX-8 vs. RSX Type-S

Has anyone ever raced an RSX Type-S with their RX-8? Which car would win?

it would come down to the driver--the 6-port rx8 has the slight performance edge though.

any way you look at it, RX-8 wins...i rarely see those cars out of the 15's......(we're talking stock here). Straight line and cornering, the RX-8 has the edge.....Ive drivin a type s, its dull compared to the rx-8

we smoke them!!!

Hey guys i happened to play with one back after the last GTa meet in the fall..
at high speeds 120kms...down shift tho 4th and you just pulllll away :D :D
even letting him catch up i did it consistantly, spank after spank.

i have also tuned rsx with and with turbo kits....their low end power is garbage, and no real power till 4500 ivtec kicks in...by then the Rx8 bottom end and rev's are screaming...as they say> SEE YAH!
later

Most of the mags 0-60 the RX-8 is faster (if that helps). Their top speed is less than ours, too.

Question: What exactly constitutes street racing?

Scenario: Your at a stop light waiting for it to turn green. The street you are on has an 80km/h speed limit. You accelerate at full throttle to 90km/h and then stop accelerating.

Is that street racing? I'm not asking this question in any bad way..

yeah the cops would just write you a ticket for a "speed contest" ... or if you guys have "street racing" legisation in your province, there might be something special in it for that situation. depends on what kind of laws you have in your province though.

Two cars trying to drive faster than each other = street racing

One car driving faster than another car = passing

IMO

Or the Race of One... :p

Comparing cars for sure speed..well, if you have enough $ you can mod a car to do that period. If you're looking for a fast great looking daily driver, go with the 8. I tested both rides and the 8, it's an addiction period.

so why is it when people in this forum speak of WOT acceleration, that is not considered street racing? This implies that "putting the pedal to the metal" is illegal?

Sorry if this is annoying anybody, i'm just trying to understand why some people talk of WOT accerlateration in this forum and that's fine, but then when somebody throws in the word "racing" everyone freaks out when technically speaking WOT is a form of "racing".

I personally do not believe in street racing either, but my version of street racing is two idiots hop'ing around in traffic nearly missing other cars while trying to out pace the other car.. But it seems like there is varying degrees of racing. I love redlining this car and pushing it once in awhile when going onto the highway and even in high speed zones. If that is racing then i'm guilty..

If i'm incorrect in this thinking let me know, but again this post is not to **** people off or give other people a reason to **** on me

What you're describing sounds like you're driving fast BY YOURSELF...right MrJynx? That's not street racing. That's speeding...? Yeah, I'm definitely guilty of that, too :D

No matter what and under any and all conditions, never admit you know the other person who is trying to do the same thing as you at the same time in a different lane. That would then be speeding. Acknowledging the other car owner means racing.

I do the same as mr Jynx. Boot it within speed limits and open her up nicely getting on to highways.

yes by myself.. I'm addicted to the sound of the engine.. And I normally do it later on at night where there's no traffic, if somebody wants to "follow" i normally lay off the gas and chill, let that person be the leader

I know when to slow down, i prefer to have a chase car if i'm going a bit faster then the speed limit.. I still get scared of the policia! I've seen some very very good undercover cars.. As in the crown vics aren't the only car they have anymore I even saw an undercover van, i would have never suspected it was a undercover

I tend to agree...I don't race either but I do drive over the speed limit and when there is little or no traffic like 2am-5am I tend to drive a bit faster. I don't believe anyone that says that they don't do this.

The RSX isn't that slow. Once modified they can make good power. The ivtec engine responds well to mods...but stock to stock the 8 will win...

My last car was an 02 RSX Type S. I thought it was pretty quick. I loved it when the IVTEC kicked in. I do prefer the look of the 8 but I wish I didnt have so many problems with it. I dont recommend playing with one on the highway though, especially at high speeds. Once our 8's hit 215 KM the RSX will pass us by. Already happened to me but with a Honda Delsol, I saw the the guy laughing at me while he passed me by
